You sometime see best 10 drunk scenes lists in mags like Empire, but they usually list just one token female.
So ..... here comes the top 10 FEMALE drunk scenes!
Some suggestions:

- Kim Basinger as Nadia Gates in Blind Date (1987)
Kim spends most of the film drunk, including during here wedding cermony ...

- Lee Remics as Kirsten Arnesen Clay in Days of Wine and Roses (1962)
Lee Remics does one of her best roles as a woman who becomes an alcoholic

- Greta Garbo as  Nina Yakushova 'Ninotchka' Ivanoff  in Ninotchka (1939)
Garbo laughs! Garbo gets drunk!

- Cameron Diaz as joy McNally in What happens in Vegas (2008)
Not a great movie in any way, but Cameron and Anton Kutchner chose to go "method!" and do the drunk wedding scene drunk ...

- Ingrid Berman as Alicia Huberman in Notorious (1946)
Back in the good, old times when drunk driving on film could end well.

- Kathrine Hepburn as Tracy Lord in The Philadelphia Story (1940)
Classic, stylish and glamourus drunkness the way it's never done in real life.

- Sandra Bullock as Gwen Cummings in 28 Days (2000)
Sandra does a female alcoholic - movie, but not as good as Lee Remics.

- Renee Zellwegger as Bridget Jones in  Bridget Jones's Diary (2001)
The british Ladette on my list.

Can't think of any more right now. can ypi

Some excellent and iconic choices there particularly where they have led to classic scenes - like Philadelphia Story and Notorious.

Thank you, elab49! Does anyone have anything to contribute? Any suggestions, comments or critisim?
I can't think of any others worthy of the list, can you?

And why are there seldom women on "best drunk scenes"-lists? Perhaps drunk women is more taboo?

Liz Taylor spends most of 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf' drunk as a skunk - and not a very nice person either.

Piper Laurie is good in The Hustler too and Claire Trevor is terrific in her scenes in Key Largo

Claire Trevor in Key Largo, for sure Her role as an alcoholic moll won her an Oscar and provides the most memorable scene in the film.

Good calls, MOTH and TheDudeAbides! Liz Taylor and Claire Trevor should be on the list, probably pushing out Cameron Diaz.

Karen Allen in Raiders of the lost ark.

She actually has 2 scenes where she is drunk (or pretends to be anyway) but my vote goes to the second one in the tent:

Natalie Portman's champagne-tipsy Mathilda in the director's cut of Leon. Very funny, especially since her giggling seems to be a genuine reaction to Reno's deadpan look.

Both good suggestions! I think I read that Portmans giggeling was reaction to having been given a glass of real champagne. Since she was WAY underage one glas was all it took ...

Bridget Jones' embarrassing karaoke renditions for comedic value.

Cameron Diaz's drunken toilet fumblings during the opening credits of In Her Shoes.

Kim Basinger attacking nasty hubby Eric Roberts in the restaurant scene of Final Analysis.

Sharon Curley's mortifying fumble with Mr. Burgess in The Snapper..."That was A1, Sharon". Ugh!

I like Claudia Cardinales princess Dalain The Pink Panther (1963). If all women were that charming when they drank, no beautifull woman would be allowed to suffer sobriety again ....

On the other end of the scale, can you think of any wasted scenes? That is, scenes where the woman isn't charmingly intoxicated, but really can-barely-stand drunk. Because I see you sometimes see male characters in that state, but I can't think of female characters in that situation.

Gena Rowlands plays a ageing stage star who is drunk for most of John Cassavetes' Opening Night. In the last act she has to be dragged out of a bar for the opening night of a new play and somehow makes it through despite being blind drunk. Unable and unwilling to say her lines, she changes the play while the other actors are forced to improvise around her.

Rowland's also played an alcoholic who has a nervous breakdown in Cassavetes' A Woman Under the Influence.

Patty Duke has several slurred, drunken outbursts in Valley of the Dolls.

Myrna Loy boozes her way through The Thin Man with her husband, but is none the worse for it, so probably doesn't count.

Audrey Hepburn has a few drunken scenes in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Ann-Margaret has a hallucinatory drunk scene in Tommy when she smashes in her TV set with a champagne bottle which in turn vomits foam and baked beans over her.

Ronee Blakely is hilariously overwrought as the heroines alcoholic mother in A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Dorothy Malone does a drunken dance oblivious to the fact that her father is dying of a heart attack
