I'm a massive fan of Watchmen and I for one cannot wait for the movie; It looks stunning. I just watched the trailer for the Black Freighter and it looks to really complete the experience as it say it will. Good work zach snyder!

After trying and trying to get the trailer working on MTV's site, I had to try Youtube and that's where I finally saw it. It looks sweet and Gerard Butler sounds perfect in a voice-over, actully qutie nice to his scottish burr! I so can't wait for this, why April? The movie isn't out until March so why wait a another month for this? A little cheeky but I'll shall pre-order it soon!

Look under the video window to the right you will see the letters HD and then 720p. Click on the 720p and a new quicktime window will open.
To be honest it doesn't show you very much. maybe 5 to 10 seconds of the cartoon. The rest is an Adonis like advert for Watchman the comic. I'd almost wished I hadn't bothered.

I remember these kinds of shenannigans going on with the Matrix sequels (Animatrix and Enter the Matrix) and they basically became an excuse for poor writing and cinema. I suppose this has more right to be a companion piece, but when taken out of context, it's a little redundant and yet more evidence that this should have been a longer mini-series.
I'm still get the feeling that this will be a Match of the Day version of it, just editted highlights like Dune and the some of the Harry Potter films.
The backlash starts here basically...that said I feel The Black freighter is much more ripe for cinema than the rest of Watchmen and would love to see it done for real by Herzog and Bale, who after his little outburst is clearly a good substitute for Kinski.
