As much as i love his work he shouldnt direct this. He should do the next bond movie to make up for the pile of crap that was quantum of solace.

He makes action movies with substance (the films you mention in the piece: Goldeneye, Casino Royale, Zorro are all superb. I'm looking forward to his take on The Heart of Darkness, much more than the seemingly duff State of Play remake. Not a Martin Campbell movie I know but it is a Hollywood movie version of a pivital BBC drama mini series.
And yes I agree I'd relax more if he directed the next Bond movie as Marc Singer, otherwise a great director, phoned it in on Question of Sport and thus it was unbelievably shite.

Fan-bloody-tastic news, martin Campbell is the perfect choice for this film and I love all of his previous work.

He even looks a bit like Hal Jordan too maybe he should play him.

If youre reading this Martin and want some one for Guy Gardener then look no further.

Im sure that we can come to some deal

Excellent choice! Hopefully this will kick-start a DC movie universe, like Marvel's doing. I want a proper Justice League movie in 5-10 years' time!

Also, I reckon Campbell looks more like Batman in Kingdom Come than Hal Jordan, but each to their own I guess.

I don't care about Green Lantern at all. Never read the comics, don't feel I'm missing out on something. What I do care about though is Bond, James Bond. Note to Barbara Broccoli/Michael G. Wilson: re-hire Martin Campbell. And Daniel Kleinman. And fire Matt Cheese or what's his name - he couldn't edit an action sequence to save his life.

Kenneth Branagh's doing the Thor movie and Raimi's gearing up for another round of Spiderman films.........at least Campbell's got some blockbuster pedigree. A Green Lantern movie would fill Warners coffers just as much as a new Superman in my opinion. Wish they'd stop talking about these things though and just get on with it....

If the script which was reviewed recently reviewed on Latinoreview.com is used this has the makings of a great blockbuster.

Martn Campbell makes some top action films so I already have my expectations uped on this project. Personally I feel he should palm off The BIrds to another Director, as good an action director as he is I feel that he his remake of Hitchcock would be ok at best. Let Chris Nolan do that one, he can make anything awesome!

Personally I love the 90's futuristic prison movie NO ESCAPE, Campbell did a great job bringing 2 new Bonds to the screen and Zorro and even though I seem to recall Empire gave it a one star review, I really liked the mountain thriller he did called Vertical Limit.

bRING cAMpbell ON!!!! He'll make an Awesome green lantern movie!!!! He's perfect! Green Latern would be a sick story to bring to screen! I don't know about the Hal Jordan route, they should go with John Stuwart. It'll be an interesting angle, since the majoroty of Superheres on the big screen is perdominatly white.

The Ring works best with a wearer who has enoughWillpower and Strength. it'll be a dmn good movie, especiall in the Hands Of Mr. Campell

Nathan Fillion is only good in films or tv shows when u want them to flop or be cancelled.

Frankly the second superman returns came out i thoguht to myself i could only think of a few characters that would make an interesting sequel character at the same time as the possiblilty of actually working on screen, Green Latern being oen of them. Admittedly, it would only be an 'comes as bad guy (justice thingy/false info from lex), turns good' ala silver surfer, against something worse, teaming with superman at the end. Can't see Green latern being mainstream enough outside comic readers to get a good showing at the cinema as a main character...
