 Because all the other childhood classics have got threads...

I love this film. I've loved it ever since the first time I saw it when I was about 5 years old and I've never looked back. I remember crying my tiny little heart out when my old VCR finally chewed up the video tape and I couldn't watch it anymore.

It's the ultimate film, it's got everything anyone could want. Action, fantasy, adventure, sword-fighting, revenge, a giant, a small angry sicilian, true love, a man with six fingers, my first crush (Westley), and last but not least, rodents of unusual size. All the ingredients for a perfect film. I've always found it very hard to attempt to describe or review films which I truly love so I'm not going to try really. I'll just say that I love it and that to me it's perfect.

 Wasn't it hilarious!! I  recently bought the book too - Its so funny - and has all the same wit but with these randdom comments thrown in by Goldman as though he's abridging it from the original Morgenstern!

I loved how in the book Buttercup is a bit thick and Westley has to make allowances for her!

The casting of the film was inspired too! I have to say I loved Prince Humperdinck.. 'Iocane - I'd bet my life on it' LOL!!

 I utterly adore this film, it's such a mood-lifter! It's funny, it's stylish, and if they don't adapt the second book (btw what was said about Stephen King adapting the second book from the original the way Goldman did was nonsense) I might have to get very upset! Despite having not read it. The first book however is fantastic.

 A great little film. I forked out for the Region 1 Special Edition DVD because i love it so much. The Region 2 version is dire in comparrison.

    		I have the Region 1 DVD. Much better than the Region 2.

    It's a cracking film that you could never get bored of. ANd if you ever get the book, get someone to read it to you. It makes it even more enjoyable. (That sounds really strange, but trust me...it's the only book that can capture a group of adults. I know. I've done it).

    		What do you think makes the film a classic? I mean, let's take about our hero Wes - sometimes known as the Man in Tights... unfortunately. But, he's not a superb actor, yet somehow him and Little Miss Buttercup have captured the hearts of generations of men and women.
