Here are my top Ten Album Covers, I havent gone for anthing too thought provoking but covers which i love and that i think are iconic.

Number 10

Animal Collective. Merriweather Post Pavillion

This is the Ninth Album from the Boston based band, only this time around as a trio. For me its good for an album cover to make some sort of statement, its even better when the cover can show throgh it's image the overall sound and feeling that comes from the music. The album its self is a kalidescope of sounds and moods, with true pshychedelic sounds encomposing beautiful harmonies that can remind you of the beach boys.

At first I thought it was pants until I moved my focus of vision. It's fucking excellent. Kudos if it works with the concept of the record too.

Number 9 Elvis Presley---Elvis Presley

Released in 1956, this marked a new direction of rythem and blues music for ever. The cover shows the energy and the passion of the young man, and paved way for a new approach to modern msic. The photo of elvis (and in reality not a particularly flattering one) was taken at the Fort Homer Hesterly Armory in Tampa, Florida in 1955 and printed in black and white. With the album bordered with his name in giant green and pink lettering this was edgy stuff in the 1950's, even though there are some wonderfull tracks on the album it's shame that some of the others do not share the album covers raw, energy and youthfullness.

Interesting picks so far Pange, I personally prefer the London Calling cover to Elvis' one but it is truly iconic. I'll definitely have to get Animal Collective's new one soon.
