I think Marshall should continue with The Adventures of Pvt Cooper as Dog Soliders II was shelved. On the commentary, he says he had plans to do other films, one where Cooper fights vampires, another where he fights zombies... as I said in the 'Centurion' thread, Cooper could become the Ash of the 21st century, all we need is for him to get sent back in time so he can fight dragons and other creatures of myth. Or Deadites.

A first, this is Neil Marshalls Centurion being filmed at Glenfeshie Estate, Highlands. Other photos reserved, commissioned or in use by the press, these are spare and dont give away too much!,

Enjoy! Aaron @ aviemore.tv - Photo/Videojournalist

The film is going to be a must-see gory thriller, with scenes shot in the spectacular Scottish Highlands and in the studios in London.

Neil Marshall's Movies - So Far, So Awesome! Loved DOG SOLDIERS, THE DESCENT (man, how hot is Alex Reid?! I've met her and she's FIT!) and DOOMSDAY. mind you, see how he's doing this CENTURION film now? I wonder how he's gonna squeeze in the 'Eddie Oswald' in-joke...?

'COOP' the new Monster-Ass Kicker? And he's a Squaddie! That would be cool!

I hate those tubby Predators. That was the one thing that AvP: R got right.

Well, if I know Marshall I'd expect he'll get a team of badass hombres together and set the scene for carnage.

The question is when will it be set because I am personally fed up of having these films set in the present; let's get some space marines! Some scope! Something we haven't seen before! It's not like a red neck town is a problem for Predators....

At the same time however, I don't have any interest in seeing the Predator homeworld. AVP-R ruined their mystique with that. Apparantly they just sit in armchairs waiting to be called out to deal with problems....

I was just about to say that the Predators in the first AvP were terrible, just bulky messes that didn't hulked around and looked awful. The one in AvP:R was a huge improvement. I think Neil Marshall is a good choice, he clearly loves these types of movies and I for one rather enjoyed Doomsday for what it was.

Dog Soldiers is probably the best example of how he's the right man. Hell, didn't one reviewer call it "Jaws, Aliens and Predator with a werewolf twist"?

Yeah... that's quite possibly the laziest 'review tagline' ever. Along with, "It's like (X). On acid!"

I don't think you need to see that planet as the Predators homeworld. Dude was just kicking back on holiday, watching some TV.

IF this rumour is true about PREDATORS, it will be a dream come true for Mr. Marshall; he is after all just a big fanboy (which of course, is not a bad thing)

The Brothers Strauss were fan boys....

In my opinion, fanatical fanboys should never be allowed to make their dream projects as they often over egg it with things they don't need... or bow to fanboy pressure (Boba Fett in Ep II, Venom in Spider-man 3, everything in Wolverine).

You need someone who can step back and see what the franchise needs from an objective point of view and who also clearly has a passion for it - a la JJ Abrams.

I think you just need someone who actully gets why the franchise works and why it failed. The Strause Brothers talked the game, but at the end of the day they totally failed to note why the Alien and Predator were iconic. They thought "Hey Alien had rain - lets have rain!".

Marshall strikes me as someone who gets it, much like J.J Abrams. Plus he already made the best Alien movie for years with the Decsent.*

Actually Marshall is the perfect choice, after a Paul Anderson Predator film and the Strause Brothers' Predator film you can't really get any lower. They've reached the bottom of the barrel and found Neil Marshall.

Or we can give it to Bay, then it would fully fall into a complete pile of dull shit, since Transformers was even worse than AvP. Even though I don't hate it that much.

A Bay Predator would be more entertaining than Marshall's. I'm picturing a bunch of Scottish people or northerners who swear a lot and a character or two drenched in blood at some point. A character will say "You ugly mother-" before getting killed (this will be in the trailer).

Bay's wouldn't even feature characters. It wouldn't even feature a plot. It wouldn't even feature a meancing predator since he would prapably repace it with an explosion.

There's actual imagination in Marshall's bloof fetish. Bay's explosiuon have remained the same for at least 12 years.

Marshall is welcome to Predators, I'm sure Fox will give him a $200m budget and all the creative freedom in the world. Can't wait for the Arnie cameo.

Who knows, who knows.....and wouldn't mind an Arnie cameo. Still would be better than failing to get good performances out John Turturro. And making films about robots fighting boring.
