Warrior made a one night only 'comeback' last year.  I think it was in Barcelona, against Orlando Jordan.  Awful match, the crowd were dull as dishwater.  Warrior updated his website with his training leading up to the match etc.  Very slow, predictbale.. .a real shame, there was no pop when he came out.

Not a great advertisement if anyone is considering a career in wrestling. Fake or not the life expectancy is not good.

Many people don't realise the amount of work these performers put into it. They're not just performing once a week in front of TV fans but are on the road performing about 300 shows a year. That takes a serious psychological and physical toll.

Yeah I agree totally, just an observation I do enjoy watching it, it is pure entertainment.

You need to have a word with the guy that researched the 'information' in this article.
I gave up reading at hilbilly Jim due to amount of errors, the most ridiculous being about Bret Hart, who has said time and time again that not only will he never return to wrestling but that he is actually physically unable to due to the 2 strokes he has had in the last 5 years.

Poor read in all, I expect better from Empire.

bit harsh, seems like a bit of a moot point to get so highly strung about.

anyway, great article, i was a fan of wrestling as a kid and recognised pretty much all of the names. gutted to hear about the boss man dying, i remember getting the action figure of the guy when i was about 8 years old.

Those were the days of my youth!

What about Diamond Dallas Page? He's into acting now, done a few horror films. The Devil's Rejects, Hood of Horror but most notably Driftwood (by 2001 Maniacs' Tim Sullivan) which he was actually quite good in. Good read all the same if a bit bare on the details of some of the wrestlers.

Have to agree with what you said there and will happily take back what I earlier said about Benoit. That was one of Wrestling's darkest hours and he wouldn't deserve it. Now that I think about it - Benoit wasn't even part of that era of wrestling. I think at the time I was just thinking about other fallen superstars due to reading about the likes of Hawk, Mr. Perfect and the Texas Tornado etc.

Very bad article that diverts much respect from deserving old time wreslters and gives next to no respect to the sadly deceased old timers. Theres a million and one facts and stories to be told about the majority of the wrestlers (im never gonna say entertainers!!!) in question that empire chooses to ignore and attempt to sum up in half arsed comical way. Its a shame because they obviously have a fondness for "The Wrestler" movie and even attempt to suggest they understand the message it is attempting to put across yet still had to revert cheap mockings of old timers who in actual fact are either doing very well for themselves (Hogan is richer than God) or are not faring too well (Jake the Snake[although loved by us all]) but still put them on an even keel and completely shy away from the many wrestlers from the past that this movie does infact relate too.

WWF/E and all it's rivals and subsidiaries are comical and are entertainment...FACT, indeed that's why most of us love it. If we want serious we'll be watching UFC or the greco roman stuff at the olympics. Yes I'm sure your right and these men have more interesting facts to tell about their lives (but who hasn't), what the hell do you expect in a paragraph summation in a nostalgic and playfull column in a non wrestling publication!!?

The WWF is a wildlife charity.

But they are talking about stars from before the company was rebranded.
