Same way you justify anything else in this world that's pretty and desirable.

Good call by the way. Letting everyone know the price of a present. That's a wonderful thing to do. Welcome to Empire, you're going to make a lot of friends around here.

My brothers and sister have been kind enough to let my mum sleep in after she was up to all hours last night so not opened anything yet.

How did everyone else do?

Very low-key Christmas in my house, as if you're a child of the paternal figures, you get gipped out of presents by aunts and uncles once you turn 18. So I got -

  • A cutlery set
  • A wok
  • A DVD copy of Tropic Thunder
I didn't think I would be so pleased that I got kitchen shit, but it saves me having to spend money on that specific kitchen shit for my flat next year. Woks are fucking expensive.

Seeing as I'm still a wickle baby, I got quite a lot.

New iPod nano, bunch of sexy clothes from the River Island sale, Let The Right One In, Inglourious Basterds & Watchmen Directors Cut on Blu-Ray, 3 Bob Dylan books, a Hendrix book, a Man Utd book, a large Hendrix canvas for my new room, and a million DVDs that I most certainly copied legally. Chocolates of course as well.

Star Trek 2-Disc Special Edition
Public Enemies 2-Disc HMV Exclusive
Terminator Salvation (supposed to be the 2-Disc HMV Exclusive but my sis made a mistake and got the vanilla edition so I'll be swapping it)

Plus clothes, The Simpsons 2010 calendar, box of sweets, and Homer Simpson slippers.

Got me a Mozipedia, Moon OST, BoC Trans Canada Highway and A Beautiful Place Out In The Country EPs, a physical copy of Metal Box (at long last) which is a three CD vinyl replica apparently, District 9 on divvid, Nick Cave's novel (despite having bought it myself and being told to return it... I suspect this was bought at a much earlier date), the complete novels of George Orwell, this shirt, the autobiography of Mr Tayto the Tayto man ("The Man Inside The Jacket"), a Reservoir Dogs divvid (mainly as I lent my old vanilla copy to someone earlier this year and never got it back), American Flagg GN and a book about the lost civilisations of Korea and Mexico.  Very happy this year, I spend most of my time reading books and listening to CDs so the emphasis on the two is much appreciated.

I was lucky indeed this christmas:

A nice pan (my ones in flat are shit so now I have a nice one that I can tell my non-washing up flatmates to touch with peril)
Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club tat
Some Topman clothes

Lost: Season 5
Doctor Who Series 4
Morecambe and Wise Series 4
In the Loop
Inglorious Basterds
Arrested Development Series 3
I'm Alan Partridge
A load of musicals which I need for my course (don't ask!)

Charlie Brooker The Hell of it All

Hopefully received enough money to buy myself a Complete Dad's Army Collection although unfortunately one of my Grandparents had the lack of foresight of giving me money on Christmas Eve, which was promptly spent with far too much generosity in the pub!
