Looks like everyone was made very happy this Christmas, in various way. I think it would be interesting to know what people gave as well as received.

My brother has 3 main interests which i managed to satisfy. One was a Leeds Utd calender, he is an avid supporter and some of his students support them too, so i said that was for his classroom. Hes into his comics, so i bought him The Long Halloween. I'd seen it mentioned on here a few times as a book well worth getting. And finally i got him a tried and tested methods of gardening, with some useful tips and ideas to improve your garden, as he has in recent years become a fan. He seemed pretty pleased with them. I got mum CK euphoria and my dad a bottle of Famous Grouse. I think i copped out with dad, but its his 60th in February so ill get him CK euphoria to complement mums and also something special but i cant think of anything else just yet.

Sounds like you did well with your gift buying this year. I wish I was as imaginative but I find it best to ask my family specifically what they want, my friends are a little easier. This year I bought:

(For the 'chocolate and something silly' crowd):

Lots of chocolate, obviously.
"A Man Walks Into A Bar" joke book, for our resident comedienne.
"FWD This Link: A Rough Guide to Staying Amused Online When You Should be Working" book for my internet savvy friend.
"I Can Haz Cheezburger" book for my random, powerpuff girl-cushion-buying friend.
"QI Annual: Letter F" book for my friend who loves QI.
"Friends Like These" book by Danny Wallace (a late birthday present).
A USB fingertip dance machine (also a late birthday present, because my friend became obsessed with dance machines when we were at school).

A microphone stand and a Wall-E teddy for one friend.
Nickelback's "Dark Horse" album and a t-shirt that says "Why is there silverware in the pancake draw?" for my Scrubs-loving friend.
Leona Lewis' delux edition album (the one including her slaughter of Run ) and the newest QI book for a friend at work.

A silver necklace, Josephine Cox's new book "Songbird" and "The Colour of Magic" dvd for my mum.
A silver chain (to put a cartouche on), a motorbike cover, a hoodie that says Kawasaki on the back and his name on the front, a jar of rainbow crystals sherbet and some soft liquorice to eat it with for my dad.
Jermey Clarkson's newest book "For Crying Out Loud", Fallout3 for the X-Box 360, an ice bucket with 6 bottles of Carling and two 'going-out' shirts for my brother.
Jack Higgins' new book "Rough Justice" and a Salvation Army cd for my Grandad.
A blouse and two small bottles of port for my Grandma.

Not like it's the first time it's ever happened. There's a lot of Kurt Cobain and John Lennon T-shirts been sold over the years.

A brand new shiny iPod - to replace the one that some bastard nicked a couple of months ago. The silver lining is that whoever it was at least now has great music taste!

A couple of DVDs from assorted people - Lost Season 4, Dark Knight, WALL-E

I got The Complete West Wing Collection as a present to myself - at 45 it would be rude not to.

And of course the obligetary socks, boxers, deodorant.

Very happy with that haul!
