 It is indeed hitting blu-ray next year; following a limited theatrical re-release, just as Universal did last year with BACK TO THE FUTURE undt this year mitt JURASSIC PARK.

The Bluray release date is August 13th. And where am I on August 13th?...........http://www.jawstribute.com/........
Jawsfest is the 8th-12th, so this CAN'T be coincidental?? Can it?

Anyway, only been lucky enough to see it on the big screen once, so next year, as well as on the beach on Amity Island itself, I may be checking it out on my local cinema. Bring it on!!
I can't wait to sit in a crowded cinema full of chavvy kids laughing at the special effects

Oh my god you guys are so lucky- we get shit all in the re-release department in Aus. Maybe though, since it's Jaws and all, we might get it.

On a sadder note, apparently the Jaws rides at Universal Studios Orlando and LA are closing down starting January 2.

There might be a FB group starting soon to save the Orca from the ride.
Nothing in my Jaws collecting life surprises the wife anymore, she's seen most of it come and go, but the Orca from the Universal Ride would be great. I'd sit it in the garden, build a pond round half of it and turn the deck into a seating area. How cool would that be, sitting in Quint's fighting chair prodding things on my barbecue.

I know. The cinema was packed actually, I was sat next to a chap who had seen it first time round, who had brought along his 10/11 year old son, who had never seen it. He jumped at all the right bits, it was quite funny watching someone see it for the first time.

 In the book, Hooper was a bit of a knob (what with boning the Chief's wife and all), but he's pretty likeable in the film. He's not the know-it-all that the book portrays him as.

Sad to see the Jaws riding closing down. I reckon it will be brought back at some point though. It is just too iconic.

As for Hooper, yes he is a pain but he is supposed to be a know-it-all, the bookwork to Quint's streetsmart fisherman. I agree though they both probably should have ended up as shark supper.

Me neither Daz. I always thought the Jaws ride was iconic enough to be kept forever, but alas not.
Apparently they're not even going to be selling the merchandise either. Which means I'll never be able to own a bottle of Jaws red wine.

Yes mate, I think the HP ride is getting an extension, which I suppose is where they are making the money now.
I was surpised at the merchandise thing, although I may have dreamt it, but pretty sure that's what I heard. I know someone going there in May and they normally bring me something back Jaws related, so we'll see.

 Having been on the Jaws ride I have to say it wasn't that great tbh. They really should've done an upgrade instead of just closing it. Anyone seen the Universal tours clip of Spielberg on the ride?
