ORIGINAL: Tech_Noir I love Robocop as much as the next sane person but is there any love for Robocop 2? It's not a bad film, but no way near the level of the original, IMO. Caine is a good villain though. I think it's on par with the original in terms of the satire - and the robot duke out at the end is something VERY special (the last great use of stop-motion in my opinion). The original, like Terminator, will always be superior because it's a self-contained rounded story, but people disregard Robo 2 too easily. The mood of the sequel fits well, the tone is definitely achieved, but the craftsmanship is more crude than the slick original, the story also lacks the severe emotional impact. And no Kurtwood Smith. That said, I agree completely about the climactic fight, sensationally good.
