I still havent seen this film, as fact I'm going to rectify through this link...

http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/6167236/There-Will-Be-Blood-Collector-Edition-Steelbook/Product.html

I tried to buy that steelbook version on cdwow, they had it for next to nothing before Christmas, but they cancelled my order as they ran out of stock.
I got the 2 disc version in regular casing in the HMV 3 for 25 sale instead, before play.com had it cheap. I keep telling myself "it's the film that counts, it's the film that counts".

I've never witnessed a Daniel Day Lewis acting performance in my life. I think most actors are overrated in general and his name is always placed up there with 'the greats', one day i guess i'll have to put myself through a movie with him in! He needs to pick an action or horror project ideally

TWBB can be viewed as a horror!

Yay! Although something tells me i might feel slightly cheated if i DID view it expecting a horror lol

yeh you would.
but you should be more open minded.
and last of the mohicans is action.
so maybe try that?
TWBB is better though.

I want to make my way through Daniel Day Lewis films I've never seen. I have The Age of Innocence on DVD that I still haven't watched.

I remember watching it at the cinema - one of the dullest films I've ever seen! Though maybe it's due a reappraisal now I'm no longer a teenager...

It hurts me to say this, being a big Scorsese fan an' all, but The Age of Innocence is really quite dull.

Welcome to the Church of the Third Revelation. Have you abandoned your boy? Are you a false prophet? Is God a superstition?
Make yourself at home - just don't be thick in front of me, Paul.

If I join the fan club do I become an honorary oilman?

At the end I just felt more happy for HW because he wasnt blood related and how much of a better man he was than Daniel. Its a very sad and powerful scene though how Daniel looks at HW with such disgust and you realise how hateful Daniel has really become, when at one time he loved HW as his own.

Ya that scene is as powerful as anything you could see, Day Lewis is just fantastic in it. It just goes to show how ruthless he was, by telling HW that he was just an orphan, because HW wants to be a successful business man on his own.

Recently, a series of priceless historical documents were betrothed to Princeton University by a Mr. Jackson Tilford. Among the documents was this find, which I thought would interest you all.

It's a historical document on the Princeton University website.

Oh I forgot, true...............still, it had nothing to do with him and it was a small enteprise so maybe it was just insignificant to him.

I think when he was saying that he was resentful with the statement.

I assumed Plainview was making it up just to annoy Eli as he knew nothing of his brother since he left the family home?

I'm in. A true modern classic. My favourite PTA film is still Magnolia, simply because it is more magical than TTBB. But PTA's filmography is becoming legendary. He is a real master of his craft. The thrill and spectacle of cinema really shines with films like this.

wacthed it again last night, and enjoyed it more ,well kind of, enjoyed it in a different way perhaps, obviously none of the plot developments engaged me as much as they did first time round(as i knew what was happening) but the layers begin to peel away on multiple viewings and you appreciate the performances more.

"I am the third Revelation!"
that scene is the best :)
