I fear for this film. It's amazing, no doubt, but is it just unfairly going to become another quote on a t-shirt film?

I kind of know what you mean about the T-Shirt thing, but if it encourages more people to watch it, thats good isn't it?

But will they all like it, apart from the last scene? That's my worry.

The important thing is to try!

And maybe there are t-shirts with "Rosebud" and a picture of a snowglobe out there somewhere!

I think you may need to rethink your definition of 'cool' there Rhu! Btw, meant to say, great review of the film - some good themes drawn together there.

I hope it makes sense, I got muddled half way through writing because I was trying to fit in everything I wanted to say about it. Problem is there's so damn much!

Tell me about it! I think I may look at a different theme each time I watch it and post a review just on that theme. or save them up and post a mega-review looking at each theme. That's quite tempting. A sort of mini-project for this year.

And so I reluctantly relinquish my Buzzcocks av for one of Daniel dancing.  I like it, though - good job by Gimli, even if it is a bit small.

Don't rush yourself, there's no hurry. I see your new av is from, like, three seconds before mine.

I like TWBB, it's visually beautiful and i think Day Lewis' performance is fanastic. However, i didn't enjoy it half as much as everyone on this thread. For some reason it just hasn't gripped me. I think someone else in the thread said about the story not getting to them and i'm the same. The thing is i can see why so many other people love the film but i enjoyed other films more last year.

I'll repeat i do like the film but i don't think it's a masterpiece and it's not a film i'm desperate to see again. I watched it twice last year, in fact the second time i watched it with one eye on why people love it so much. When i watch it again it'll be to find out what i'm missing.

And mine; I went for my favourite scene which is strange for me, I would have bet against me preferring anything else than a 50 year old man shouting about milkshakes.

Do you know what would be amazing? If everyone had three seconds of a scene, and they posted in order, so the scene played out like a flickbook on the left hand side of the page.

I love this film to death, utterly amazing, it's a modern day masterpiece in my humble opinion.

However it kills me to go on IMDB and read the posts about it. I know IMDB is full of fools for the most part but it becomes a joke especially when it comes to TWBB. Everything about the film has to be spelled out for them, there can be no ambiguity at all and they seem to ask really silly questions about parts of the film that could be answered with either a repete viewing or by taking a couple of seconds to think about it.

i tried writing a thing about There Will Be Blood, not so much a review but just a discussion of themes(its somehwere in the review thread) and its so hard cos theres so much. i'm pretty sure i just ended up with a meaningless ramble.
