Anyone know how they reacted in NI to Data's "the Irish reunification in 20-somethingorother" line? Wonder if the line got taken out as to not cause any shit.

It got removed over here.

Really? I swear I saw it on Virgin 1 about a year ago.

I meant when it was first broadcast in the late 80s - the days when Gerry Adams had his voice done by an English bloke.

Right, I get ya.
Y'know when you said Gerry Adams I spent a few moments scratching my head thinking "was he in TNG and who did he play?" before slowly realising what you actually meant.

shame they did not use her to span the generations as they did with sarak, spock and scotty in tng.

That is quite impressive, love that you can now see all the detail on the Enterprise-D miniature.

Bryan Fuller and Bryan Singer joining forces on pitching a new Trek series? Well, I'm intrigued.

You know Singer cameo'd on Nemesis? Indication he's a big Trekkie. In fact wasn't he attached to the supposed Starfleet Academy series that never happened?

interesting question-

http://www.trektoday.com/content/2012/03/crosby-did-she-make-the-right-choice/

it was a shame her character got short thrift in s1 but it did allow trek to kill off off a tv series regular for the first time.
and her departure allowed for worf and geordi to get more prominent roles as security and enginneering chief.

and messing up that death scene in 'skin/evil' led to 'yesterday's enterprise' giving her character a proper send off.

I actually love that Yar's death is just so random and unexpected (from what I remember - she just gets killed out of nowhere, right?).

It was the single most interesting thing the character did up to that point.

One day I hope we get the real scoop on why Gates McFadden left the show for a season....

Rewatching TOS for the first time in years.

Currently on episode 1... After the Pike-pilot. The first "proper" episode.

Watched a bit of it, didn't see it all though, looking back on TNG, it was mightily cheesy wasn't it

I'd probably pick TOS now if I were to choose a series of them to re-watch.

I'm just going through Enterprise at the moment. I watched season 1 when it was first on Sky 1 here but didn't get beyond that. Bloody hell it's frustrating! I've lost count of the amount of times I'm shouting "WHY???" at the telly! The problem is that I'm never (or rarely) on the Enterprise crew's side, when I'm sure I'm supposed to be. I'm generally "stop fucking around with aliens' culture!"

I'm on season three now and there's enough in it to keep me going through it. Certainly enough to enjoy despite hating loads of aspects of it!
