Irony! I posted that this wasn't going to work, and I got redirected to Future Films!

P.S This isn't going to work, is it?

I did PM the capt asking if the lock was temporary like the Unpopular Opinion one and whether a similar thread would be locked too.

Did you see what post number the last thread stopped on? Spooky...

If the concept of General Chat is adhered to, it should be fine I would imagine. Just keep is safe folks - rules are rules.

So, chatting general, how are folk set for Christmas? A few of you have mentioned getting stuff on Amazon - I haven't bought a single present yet! I'll have to get started this weekend, don't fancy doing it all two days before Christmas.

I don't get this idea of Amazon Christmas gift buying, I like to shop for it myself. But I should start shopping soon.

I'm buying for myself, while giftbuying because I find it pretty hard to say no.

Don't know why the other thread had to be locked it. Just ban the alias/user and we'll carry on chatting as usual. There was no reason to shut down a very popular thread because of one person's comments.

I just bought my dad Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, cos its only 4! Am tempted to get myself the steelbook version though. That would be quite bad - buying myself the better edition at the same time as the gift

Ah well Fella, you've got Vol. IV now. It just needs to be broken in, like a dog or a pair of shoes.

It's easily checked on the main F&G page, but it was 23666.

I saw that at the cinema. Didn't think it was as bad as it was made out. But the end was rubbish.

We're four days into the season and I'm already sick of christmas. Can't wait 'til new year, something to properly look forward to with no pressures beyond getting smashed.

If it's any consolation it's not Christmas.

It's Advent.

Christmas starts on the 25th and runs for 12 days until Epiphany on Jan 6th. Only, by new Year's Day everyone's forgotten about Christmas (note, the radios stop playing festive songs).

Did you know, Wham's Last Christmas is the most played song over the Christmas period.

It's kind of weird, the few days between New Years and the end of the holidays. You just sort of stumble out wondering what to do now all the good movies have already been on.

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true oh
All I want for Christmas is you

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need, and I
Don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I don't need to hang my stocking
There upon the fireplace
Santa Claus won't make me happy
With a toy on Christmas day

I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you

I won't ask for much this Christmas
I won't even wish for snow, and I
I'm just gonna keep on waiting
Underneath the mistletoe

I won't make a list and send it
To the North Pole for Saint Nick
I won't even stay awake
To hear those magic reindeer click

'Cause I just want you here tonight
Holding on to me so tight
What more can I do
Oh, Baby all I want for Christmas is you

All the lights are shining
So brightly everywhere
And the sound of childrens'
Laughter fills the air

And everyone is singing
I hear those sleigh bells ringing
Santa won't you bring me
The one I really need
Won't you please bring my baby to me quickly

I don't want a lot for Christmas
This is all I'm asking for
I just wanna see my baby
Standing right outside my door

I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
Baby all I want for Christmas is you
