Absolutely agree about Hamil's voice acting.....whilst it was spot-on for the Animated Series.....here they have clearly gone for the gritty realism of the Nolanverse - Hamil's delivery doesn't match-up.

Should've roped-in Sam Rockwell or someone similar, who can do 'dark and scary' and still deliver a punchline.

I am not excited for this. I don't like the graphics, looking as dull as Batman Begins and the soundtrack in as dull as Zimmer's work. It could be saved in terms of gameplay, but the dull look may destroy that too. Why the hell go for the dull Nolan universe?

I wouldn't say that they have though. Yes the trailer plays on Batman Begins theme of "becoming the darkness and the fear" etc but that seems to be just to show off the games stealth mechanics etc.

Looking at the character roster it is dealing with characters I am sure Nolan would never use in his more realistic Batman universe. Such as Killer Croc, Mr Freeze, Poison Ivy etc. Batman himself also looks like he is in his 40's compared to Nolan's story of the young Batman. You could dismiss this points but apart from these nothing I have seen really screams this is Nolan's Batman.

Good points, but it still has the look, the murkiness, which I am not liking. And hopefully, it won't be the horrible mess that Batman Begins was (not film but complaining on game this time).

I'm hoping it'll play as a nice mix of Splinter Cell vs Assassin's Creed vs the combat system of Bourne.

All I meant by the Nolanverse factor was that, aside from realistic (as opposed to cartoony) graphics, it looks as though there will be a 'ninja/stealth' element to it as opposed to a standard superhero button mashing platform.

I like the look of this, but I'm thinking I may hold off purchasing until it drops in price.

Not getting the Nolan comparisons at all though, looks totally within the realms of the comics/graphic novels etc.  All very gothic and stylised.... I mean the Batmobile looks like the one from Batman forever more than any other incarnation.  Hmmm.  Looks good, but nothing yet to convince me to buy this over say, Ghostbusters.

I for one am excited about the use of Hamill's Joker voice. Along with the use of Conroy as Batman, the game will have a familiarness to fans of the Animated Series whilst looking different enough from it to be intriguing.

As for a Nolan look - yes, the game does have the sense of going that way but screenshots showing that Killer Croc is in the game mean that this is in no way a Nolan vision. This Batman game needs to be set in a real world enviroment and until I get my wish of somekind of GTA clone with the Caped Crusader then I will look forward to this one instead. I will however hold off on my final judgement until I have played it!

Anyways - to keep us going until then......

Flippin' heck...that looks sublime. Could this be the superhero game that we've all been waiting for (i.e. one that isn't shit)?!?!

Off to get my pre-order in.

Batman AA is my next major 'must have' title, quickly followed by Ghostbusters. I imagine it will go fairly cheap within the first week. I've managed to pick up a few brand new titles relatively cheap on day of release or via pre-order prices. Personally I can't wait for this title.

Decided to go with Ghostbusters instead I think - it's only out a week later! Having seen some of the gameplay, it looks OK but not quite what I was expecting. Think I will be waiting for AA to drop in price during sales/special offer before buying.

After seeing all this, I still think it looks rubbish with the Nolan look, and the voice acting is still off with it.

Am seriously considering pre-ordering the special edition but am not too sure, I did that with SF4 and then the Special Edition went down to £35 within a month plus we've just been given a gas/electric bill of £96 to pay so £60 for a game is a bit steep....... but then:

Screw it! Just pre-ordered it on Game - they've got it at 54.99 which is down to £49.99 after my loyalty card points, if it gets crap reviews I'll cancel the order and get Ghostbusters instead

Yes, I don't like Batman Begins at all, a load of pretentious wank with visuals comparable of staring down a toilet, but I did quite like TDK, and Batman and Robin at times did have a pretty neon looking Gotham City at time, and it certainly is more fun to watch than Batman Begins.

It was the pretty colours that made me post that, they were so shiny and pretty. And that I think its quite atrociously hilarious.

Hint for the future - if you pre-order anything on Amazon and it drops in price up to a month (or maybe longer) after the release date, they'll refund you the difference if you e-mail customer services.  I've done it plenty of times in the past for books, games, DVDs etc.
