I put fear of breakfast cereal into Google and The History of Masturbation was one of the top answers?

I remember this coming up in QI. Something to do with Cornflakes being in invented to curb the amount down town lester brown in the country. It sure worked.

Oh and whoever invented breakfast cereals - especially Coco Pops - wants shot with shit. Failing that, eternal damnation.

So wrong

I can't even sit in the same room as someone eating cereal without feeling a little ill, though that's partly due to my feelings about milk,

I can't eat cereal with milk because

a) I hate milk too
b) I don't get the liking for the disgusting soft/soggy mess it makes. I like the crunch.

I used to think I was a freak for not liking milk, you've made me feel like a normal boy

I rarely make tea for other people since even the smell of milk makes me gag, so I can't do the sniff test to check if it's in date or not. No point me doing it if the other person has to be there helping anyway

Can't stand tea or coffee either. I only ever have milky tea if I've got a really sore throat and I need the hot liquid, but it upsets my stomach. Disgusting awful viscous evil stuff . It also means, though, that I never make tea or coffee (technically I'm not trusted to do it after apparently doing it very very wrongly).

I do use it for cooking, but it gets cured of evil by lots of stronger nice stuff. That's how recipes work.

I generally hate milk too.

I'll have a very small amount on cereal, but just a little.

And I have my tea black.

Like my men.

I'm addicted to breakfast cereal. When a new one comes out I have to try it. I'm not a fan of it soggy either so they have to be small bowls so it stays crunchy throughout. I'm also addicted to cookies so yeah I consume a lot of milk.

I couldn't do without tea or coffee either.

I'd forgotten about this thread - I'm overjoyed to find out I'm not alone, however I'm not so overjoyed that reading the phrase 'soggy cereal' several times has made me feel a bit nauseous.

And yet I love cheese, both strong and mild. I love the sourness and yet that's the very thing I hate about milk (which tastes sour to me no matter how fresh it is).

If I had a time machine I'd love to go back to that moment when a human being first squeezed a cows teat and drank it, and stand there glaring and yelling "what the FUCK are you doing??"

In fact about five years ago, I had a fun one night stand with a smart, witty, and very attractive lass I'd been pursuing for some time. High on the unique buzz that only a night of impromptu passion can induce, the next morning I tip-toed excitedly into her living room to see what delights she'd prepared for pur first breakfast together. Imagine my surprise to see her sprawled on the settee in a coffee-stained dressing gown stuffing her face with mushy Sugar Puffs. I stuck around for a minute 'til she picked up the bowl and emptied the remaining milk down her throat and neck then feined a hangover, put my shoes on and fucked right off.

I hope you at least had the decency to say Cheerio! Sorry, couldn't resist....

Seriously though, letting sugar puffs come between you and the chance to make the beast with two backs goes way beyond a simple dislike for milk in my books- were you attacked by Tony the Tiger as a child or something?

Yeah this. My flatmate basically just threatens the cereal with the milk, he may as well just eat it out the box frankly.

While you're there, can you track down the person who had the courage to eat the first raw oyster and ask the same of him/her?

The correct way to have Weetabix, is to pour the milk onto the centre of them. The middle should be soggy and the ends left crunchy, then add a layer of sugar across the whole thing, perfection.

My mum always poured boiling water over the Weetabix, then poured milk around it and sprinkled sugar on the top of it.

I'm a little ashamed to say that I was well into my late teens before I realised this was not the usual way to eat Weetabix.

I've checked my medication and I am now totally retsina-free for over 3 mths! However, I am now living in west Cornwall and they have some of the best apple-based drinks known to mankind! Still, I'd like to thank all the well-wishers whose sympathy I aroused with my non-sensical diatribes on here.
All is well and normal service has been resumed.
Hic.
ps-milk is heavenly and should be poured over everything. Including milk!

The police should be very vocal in their personal opinions whilst on duty, then you know exactly what you are getting. Alternately...

Is this Groundhog Day?

I don't know about expressing opinions, but they certainly shouldn't be allowed to carry Tasers if they can't tell the difference between a samaurai-wielding psychopath and an old blind fella with a walking-stick.
