Hasn't Russell Brand already been hired to play Jack Sparrow's brother in Pirates 4?

They are not talking about Bale, Fassbender was Stelios in 300.

You know, I heard through the grapevine that Russel Brand was actually being cast for Pirates, but as Cap'n Jack Sparrow's brother.
Personally, I think it's brilliant, but the fact that Zac Efron is now playing Will Turner cancels it out. I guess I'll just have to bring a barf bag with me to see the movie. And possibly a stun gun to settle the screaming Zac Efron fan girls.

I hear in the new Pirates brands character will send an offensive wax sealed declaration that he shagged the king of spains grand-daughter and all hell kicks off.

That would only be acceptable if he appeared in the opening scene and was immediatly made to dance a gallows jig for piracy (without having the chance to say a word), and Sparrow spent the entire film trying to find the guy who hung him and buy him a rum as a thank you for killing the annoying twat.

Clark Duke is shaping up as the best contender to Rogen's crown. He's Michael Cera's Vlogging partner (Clark & Michael), one of the surprises of Sex Drive, and I'm hoping his appearance in Kick Ass will be as good. One to watch...

Brand is more like Desperate Dan dressed up as Captain Jack with the vocal stylings of Dot Cotton.

Can I be the millionth person to point out that Johnny Depp is traditionall cast for his talent and/or good looks, neither of which Russell Brand has any business being within the vicinity of?

She's actually English dispite the Aussie accent having been born and raised in the UK and only moving down under at 13 and then knowing what was good for her moving out in her early 20's. Johnny Depp/Skeet Ulrich was very much the obvious pick but guess Brands the man of the moment...

Another good way to save money in these 'hard' times is to recycle. Good to see Empire doing their bit by essentially recycling their old 'If Wet...' feature.

And I prefer Busy Philipps to Heigl anyway. And she's got the better name

You guys at Empire should be waving such suggestions in the faces of the directors and film makers that you interview. Not only would it put some of these people on the map, it could theoretically make for better movies. The money they save on the casting, could be used to produce better sets or more compelling stories.

Bit worried that Shannyn Sossamon would be considered for anything.......

Thinking that if Meryl Streep proved too expensive they could always call in Esther Rantzen

I didn't like this article. I think Russell is Russell and Gerard is Gerard. For me both are good actors with theirs personalities. I have knew Gerard Butler and the more I know about him the more I like. He is not the best actor of the world neither Russell. Every one is every one.
We don't have to compare people, is not polite in my opinion.
Thanks.

Bale is Britains best actor at this point though.

And Zoe Saladan is nowhere near as hot as Halle.

Nicole Kidman is certainly a beautiful woman, but I'd take Naomi Watts over her for my movie any day, even at the same price. She certainly isn't Nicole's backup.
