fleming didn't think much of bond when he was writing him in the books.
the films kinda made him more appealing to viewers.

remember craig's bond still work in progress.
glad he tempered his blood lust at end of QoS.

James Bond will return in 007.

QoS was a massive failure for me. It killed all of the momentum CS had built up and we got a lame ass villain.

I doubt they will name it anything based on Fleming's remaining titles.

You mean "CR" surely? I think a certain lightweight segment of the filmgoing public couldn't stomach the visual style of "QoS" but that's fine. I love it as it's just another level up in terms of dynamism and by the second film I wanted something more fiery or frenetic, which I received aplenty. To me it's the perfect accompaniment to the first film because it doesn't waste time in delivering needless exposition. We got that in the first film (though not needless). Hence why there was no need for more "momentum", only force and it was certainly delivered. I loved how they developed the idea of Quantum, which seems believable. Big faceless and seedy corporations bankrolling the world's governments in order to suit their needs. It makes perfect sense. I think the opera scene was the big highlight for me.

"Well, Tosca isn't for everyone" haha.

As for title names for "Bond 23". While I think "007 in New York" seems a little 'clunky' for want of a better term, I think a story involving him in New York would be very interesting. I also envisage Amy Adams as a CIA intelligence officer (not 'agent') to be a good fit. I think there's another title by the name of "Risico" which is terse and an interesting one. Of course there's nothing precluding them from using original titles.

Titlewise, if the last two are anything to go by, the letter O should appear in at least two words so that on the poster, the arrangement of the words allows the OO7 'brand' to feature prominently

as in

CASINO
----=----ROYALE
------------- 7

and

QUANTUM
OF
SOLACE
--- 7

Basically kidding, but if consistency of logo and style is the watchword in any way, I wouldn't be over surprised to see the rationale suggested actually applied.

Quantum's main idea isnt a new one, especially for Bond. They basically just updated the Spectre thread. Im with you on the opera scene, best bit in the film although I do think the film was a little overkill on the action. The rooftop chase near the start was almost shot for shot Bourne Ultimatum and the Airplane dogfight was unnecessary or would have been better without David Arnolds over used action score.

As for Bond in New York, Live and Let Die anyone?

I think it's uncecessary to focus on using the last book names, when in the past other ideas like The World is Not Enough (Bond family arms) and Goldeneye (nod to Birds of the West Indies) are way more subtle. I hope they think along those lines.

I read it will be called Devil May Care and will be a loose adaptation of Sebastian Faulks' book with Quantum fitted into it.

That would be awesome, the book is excellent. Not the sequel to QofS that people are mentioning though if it went in this direction.

True but you could easily take it apart and mould it into something akin to a QoS sequel.

At least put a little romance and humor in it this time, Quantum of Solace seemed like a chase film. Or get a new Bond, I like Daniel Craig just not as James Bond, maybe Jason Statham? That would be cool.

Statham as Bond?

Christ, I love The Stath but he is a terrible fit for that role, he would make a kick ass villain/henchman though. Do it Mendes!

Yes, I agree. I didn't like Quantum of Solace at all... it didn't feel like a Bond film to me. A total dissapointment. I really hope Bond 23 will be better.
