Will you be doing the Korean Hallyu at any point? I'm not a great fan of the music but I noticed Girls Generation made it to Letterman and Big Bang are all over the place.

I had planned to as i've been a fan of K-Pop for over a decade but the Guardian had a good piece on Korean music four or five months ago that covered a lot of the material i would have written about.

I read it but it seemed to be more about the business rather than the quality of the music (and perhaps not enough about the trainee system which sometimes strikes me as not entirely distinct from indentured servitude!).

Well after months of humming and harring about putting together a film blog, I have finally got off my rapidly expanding rear and done something about it (massive thanks to the fellow forumites who have helped make this happen). It's a film blog with an emphasis on gender, sexuality and equality in film, and if anyone else on the boards would like to contribute, I'd love to hear from them.

Still very early days yet, only a few articles so far and some stylistic kinks to iron out, but I've had a great response, so please let me know what you think.

Good one, Reb!

I'm going to give my blog a serious revamp, I may just focus on the '80s (flms, TV Shows, music etc), I'm not sure.

Nice work Reb, look forward to seeing it develop.

I've started producing a series of ebooks, in an attempt to find an interesting/innovative way to monetize my site. I'm not keen on adverts, so figured experimenting with other channels was worth a punt. So far it's gone pretty well, with one of the books placing at 8th in the iTunes ibooks arts chart, and has got pretty good ratings and whatnot.

Yeah I have Google Ads at the moment, mostly because I have an Adsense account from another blog that I'm only a few quid away from reaching the minimum payment amount. I don't particularly like the look of them though and would prefer to go down the route of affiliates that relate to the article or review in hand. I have Amazon affiliates at the moment and wanted to get iTunes, but I'm having a bastard of a time getting the site verified by TradeDoubler. Does anyone else have these and can help?

Plug time! I'm now a sub-editor for http://fashionworked.wordpress.com/, a small fashion blog. I've been let loose with two columns, Sack the Stylist (Tuesdays) and Eye of the Beholder / You've Got Nails (beauty, on Thursdays). My articles are tagged with 'Sarah', funnily enough.

We welcome any feedback, comments and/or suggestions. Enjoy!

Hopefully longer than the last.

I'd just been looking at the link and it's a delightful start. I've showed my niece hedgehog a while ago reading the subs to her - she's still young enough to really need dubs. I'd love to get my nephew trying something different now, though, especially as he can be a voracious reader.

Also - is that an implied diss to my spiderman?

...your spiderman?

It was a sort of "I remember this series of tv movies really fondly, but good god it's a bit shit".

Found out the site is now the 12th most influential film blog in Europe. Very excited about that, given that I'm now in the middle of some pretty big players. After Kermode's blog and the fantastic Clothes On Film mine is the highest site run predominantly by just one person too (and the highest overall that doesn't run adverts). Not quite sure where we can go from here, the only way is down really, but still, really happy about todays news.

You've still got 11 places to go, slacker.

If only. I'm tempted to really push for it and go for top ten tho. I don't run nearly enough competitions or news articles to compete with the top bunch.

Still pretty impressive! (Depending on how authoritative this particular site is...)

They're one of the main basis' for online marketing in Europe, so they're as reliable as it gets really. They have a very intricate equation for measuring influence, it delves beyond simple things like hits and the like.

Just published the 1000th article on the site. At an average of 1000 words per article thats ONE MILLION words!

Actually started using the Facebook page I set up ages ago for my blog. Got all hitech and put a Like button in my sig. Ok, so it doesn't make you "like" the blog, but it does take you to the blog's FB page where you can like it, if you want.

Baby steps.

This is exciting and unexpected. I've been nominated for a Best Arts And Culture Blog award and the Blog North Awards. If anyone fancies voting for me, it's really easy to do (one click, no log-in) and I'd very much appreciate it.
