The BBC website has announced that it starts on Wednesday October 1st at 9pm. That's a week tomorrow. It may be a little early to start a thread, but I'm excited as hell so i though we could have a little speculation before it arrives.

It's called Villains. how awesome does that sound?

Anyway, what do you think?

oh, and isn't it a little sad that season 2 can be summarised in this crappy video? http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/heroes/seasons/season2.shtml

well i think i'm gonna be going for bbc2 speed, mainly cos iplayer is better quality than most vids on the net (i never watch tv...)
Hopefully it'll be a marked improvement from last season, which i got bored with...

EDIT: if eccleston comes back i'll be happy

I guess my long-running BBC2 thread is now defunct.

Anyway, you're in for a treat in my view.

Shouldn't you put a spoiler warning before that?

Hooray hooray it stars tonight!!!

Anyway, I've just finished S1 for the second time, and I remembered how completely awesometastic it was. In fact, it really puts S2 in the shade. I know people will defend it, and it was good, but against the overarching majesty of the first series, that was packed with emotion and excitement, and, crucially, had isaac mendez, it pales in comparison. Still good, but nothing like the might of it's predecessor. Lets hope 3 is a return to form.

Heroes won't be showing on the iPlayer as its an import, sorry richCie.

Sorry to correct you Pettsy, but it will be on iplayer. It is currently showing as 'coming soon' on the schedule. If it wasn't going to be shown, it would say 'not available'

I read on the BBC website that it will not be available on iPlayer due to copyright problems.

Well, they really should change the 'coming soon' then. We will find out tonight, though since the BBC has put a shit-load of cash into the rights of showing Heroes for the rest of the shows life, I'd imagine they should be able to.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but the 'coming soon' is usually a good indication of what will be on iplayer. That could be a fault on their part with Heroes though.

I didn't doubt it, Scabby, in fact, I had read that before, but for now the schedule is telling me that it will be on iplayer, so I will know for sure at about 10pm. If it's not, it's not, no big deal.

Remarkably, I only realised this was starting tonight about three days ago...Looking forward to it, S2 was patchy in places but vastly underrated (2 stars, Empire? Really?). Should be interesting to see what happens, the main issue with the last series was how truncuated the ending felt (perhaps due to the writer's strike, but who knows) - hopefully it should have more time to breathe this year.

Oh yeah, and pretty much every new character from last season was rubbish. Except Kristen Bell. I cannot think why...

I missed BBC3's second episode, but enjoyed the first. Little muddled as far as the plot's concerned (must be all that back-and-forth bloody time travel) I'd forgotten how great Hiro is though

Watched both eps. last night , major shock at the end of ep. 2 . There is a lot going on and they have upped the pace . This series is starting more like a comic book what with lots of villains with powers n stuff .

Fantastic start!  I'm assuming that Claire is the pure blood or 'light' that Hiro's dad was banging on about considering what Sylar said about her although that seems a bit obvious this early on

Not sure I like Mohinder having powers but it throws up interesting stuff about the future bits we saw...and fucking Marlo from the Wire is in it!

I see the BBC have got Santiago Cabrera who played Issac in season 1 to do the voice-over for Heroes Unmasked. Way to keep him involved in the show, I suppose.

Interesting and inevitable going the league of villains route -already more pacy and a better start than last season. But the guest stars! I saw Bubbs in the names but not in the show (my attention must have wandered for a moment) - and then Marlo and Weevil (going to talk to Bell, which was a nice touch!).

****Potential Spoilers for Ep1****

Thoroughly enjoyed the opening episode.

I know S2 was a bit of a shadow of the first series, but I'd agree that it is underrated. The final 4 episodes were back to the standard of S1 and I was keen to see where they would take it with S3.

Initial signs are very good indeed, and it seems like they've recaptured the magic of S1. Nathan's storyline looks like it's going to be very interesting indeed with his seeming conversion to God, though the re-emergence of a major player might change that.

Sylar's pursuit of Claire was great, tense and with a nice nod to the Scream series. His 'examination' of Claire was suitably grotesque, and a nice insight into how Sylar operates (though some might bemoan that it robs Sylar slightly of a horror element, though it would be right to argue that his actual methodology of getting powers is even more horrific).

Mohinder's storyline looks interesting, too. I'm not sure they could've kept him going as some kind of crusader for a cure, so taking his character into murky moral ground, is a good move. It'll be interesting to see how he handles his new power and becomes a corrupting force.

Looking good, and I've heard that this season is 26 episodes long, so there's plenty more to look forward to.

LOVED Episode 1....very gripping and it's nice to see Heroes back to it's best.

Especially good to see Mohinder getting something to do rather than talk about his father's research!!

Cracking start to season 3. If they makers keep this up right through to the last episode (doubtful but you never know)  it's going to be one hell of a series. The darker, the better IMO.

Daren't read the whole of this thread, as I noticed references to the BBC3 episode when I briefly scrolled down (NOT IN THIS THREAD PLEASE!), can someone PM me if its safe from idiots now?

Anyway - just wanted to say it was an absolutely amazing start to season 3, and they obviously knew there'd be a lot of people watching this season and giving the show its 'last chance saloon'. Can't imagine many people turning off after that storming start. Talk about setting all your story threads up in 45 mins.

So, mere mortals can now get powers too. I don't know about you, but I want to see the mayhem of it happening. I want to witness the full Ando-Hiro showdown!

And as for future Claire......hmmmmmmm!

This thread is for the show on BBC2, any mention of the one on BBC3 is a spoiler. Not everyone has access to BBC3. Not saying you mentioned the second episode, but someone did.
