I reminded a couple of friends to watch the Mallory/Everest documentary last night, and one of them was fairly drunk by the time he watched it.

He sent me a text afterwards saying, "I guess we all have our Everest to climb! You're my George Mallory, but with a happy ending."

Awww, bless him!

Yes, a hundred times. Love that album.

Also, saw a great gig in Nottingham last night, was anticipating a sad shaky hungover day before going home, but had a lovely fattening breakfast and then came out onto the streets and found myself inthe middle of a Saint Patricks Day Parade where everybody was smiling despite the pissing cold rain.

I love days like this.

Was chatting with my dad earlier and told him I had been learning German today but was now going to watch a French film and he asked,

"A French film? What is it, 'Adelle'?"

Eddie Mair casually destroying Boris Johnson. 'You're a nasty piece of work, aren't you?'. Fantastic stuff.
But christ, the idea of that blonde buffoon being prime minister is fucking terrifying.

Edit: Danny Alexander coming on not long after absolutely shitting his pants was priceless too.

Having read the reports on it I really wish I had seen it. If half of what was stated was true then Johnson truly is a horrible man (mopre horrible than I first thought.)

Typical Youtube comments section. It appears a lot of people think this was a beneficial interview for Johnson and the interviewer was shown up. I think they were watching a different interview.

Text a workmate to say I was hopefully moving back into my flat this weekend and we should hang out.

He replied with: "There's no really good way to say this so I'll just get it out there... I only really like the idea of you. So I'd prefer if we kept the distance thing going."

The fact that I'm less than two months away from seeing new Arrested Development episodes.

Bitter sweet realisation that my two weeks holiday and the wee man's Easter break are coming to an end. Flown by, but been amazing to spend so much stress free quality time together, even if half that time was spent curled up on the sofa battling sickness. Today we're off to the park to try out the new football and kit he got for his birthday.

Seeing one of my best friends for the first time in a year. It's silly cause he lives in London and I live in Essex, we should be able to see each other way more than we do but life and other stuff tends to get in the way. We had such a lovely catch up.

I'd also forgotten how horribly upsetting that scene in the cornfield at the end is. Not smiling anymore.

I'm on diazepam at the same time. I think I have had twenty IQ points knocked off the top straight away and want to look in corners and giggle.

Today I've been smiling about the impending return of The National and Queens Of The Stone Age - the new tracks I've heard sound bloody awesome (and the album covers are pretty special too).

I was told on 3 separate occasions today that I am looking good. And that is not something I hear very often, nevermind three times in one day!

One of my pals even remarked that I was looking better today than he remembered me looking even before I got ill.... Haha! Bit of a back handed compliment, but it's nice to hear I'm obviously looking healthy now.

A friend this evening told me I have a mischievious look about me right now, a glint in the eye. Which my mum had actually mentioned a couple of days ago too.

I guess they saw me when I was lifeless, and just looked grey, dull, lifeless and had dead looking eyes. Feels nice knowing I'm looking good just now.
