Odd to see Weaving referred to as a British actor. And I think they're missing the point a bit - you can have good big budget effects extravaganzas. Stamp and Weaving are just talking about two shit directors.

It's definitely one of my dumber compulsions. I google image'd nail biting the other day and saw all these "horrifying" examples, looked at mine, and thought "pfft, they're nothing!"

Yeah I'm not sure what else I can suggest. I only occasionally bite my nails - I used to nervously pick at them instead and ruin them that way. Either way, I guess I had the incentive of wanting feminine looking hands and lovely nails, which is what made me pack it in.

Not in that article, but he also talks about how he did the prequel because he wanted to work with Natalie Portman. He turned up on the morning for his scene with her only to find she wasn't there. "Where's Natalie?" he asked Lucas. "Oh, she'll be over there" says Lucas, pointing to a piece of paper hanging on a wall.

Mittens and duct tape work quite well.

I used to do exactly the same. I eventually trained myself not to by making myself aware of when I was doing and consciously stopping (a lot of the time I was doing it without knowing as I do a lot of things), slowly I became aware when I was doing it and eventually I stopped myself from doing it (although it took months to do).

 Recently started watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and it's fucking hilarious.
