ORIGINAL: homersimpson_esq 11 days until I move house, and my landlord-elect is already awesome. I want to arrange to get the first payment to him so it's not burning a hole in my bank, he's tells me a figure less than the one I've calculated, and says to come to the property tomorrow, he'll give me the keys so I can start getting stuff moved in if I want. I don't officially move until 12/12/12 (heh) but I'll have the keys tomorrow. Amazing. I figuratively cannot wait to move. This house has never been a "home". I've never settled. Christ, there are still boxes in rooms eight months later. When I moved here, everything else was positive - new job, new opportunities, etc - but I didn't want to move out of my last place, but I had to as it was tied to the job. This time, I really want to move. My landlord has been fine - completely absent: I've only met him once - but fine. It's just the house itself; too far away, too expensive, too big. Without the children around, I rattle around here, lost. The new place is smaller, but still ample for me and the children, less expensive, and much, much nearer to, well, everything. That the landlord-elect seems to be such a nice guy is a real boon too. quote:
