Sitting on the couch with Jr this morning before he went to school, just watching some cartoons.

Then a distinctly powerful aroma assaulted my nostrils. I looked at him quizzically, which set him off giggling.

"Have you pumped?" I asked in mock-outrage which gave him a laughing fit for about five minutes.

It's the simple and immature things, really. [:D]

They really are the best thing about having kids, mainly the immature things though .

My daughter was convinced I'd been to school at Hogwarts for a good couple of years, it was only a few months back that she started getting wise to my nonsense. Before that she also believed I'd spent 50 years as King of Narnia, battled with the Goblin King for my sister, spent a couple of years honing my Jedi skills in the Dagobah system, was the first Captain of The Black Pearl before Jack Sparrow and had been best man at Kermit and Miss Piggy's wedding.

As my daughter leaves her gullible years my son is entering his so there's at least a good couple of years of tall stories to come .

Hearing that an acquaintance of mine gave a line of coke to a famous sitcom star last week (admittedly this is only funny if you know who it was but still. Ha)

Still smiling, one week later, after my mum took out a loan to enable me and my fiancee to pay off our credit card and overdraft debt. If I live to be a hundred I'll never be able to thank her enough for that. Now I don't wake up and go to bed worrying about money.

My wee mum made me smile today.

I had to go to the docs today in my home town so I swung past and saw my mum at home first. I then headed off for my appointment and said cheerio to her thinking I wouldn't see her for another couple of weeks. About 20 minutes later I was sitting in the waiting room and my mum unexpectedly appears. I asked her what she was doing here and she replied that she thought she'd stop in past on her way down the road to keep me company as it can be boring waiting on your own. Bless her! She then bought me a sandwich and juice when I accompanied her down the road after my appointment. Made me feel like I was a wee kid again.

A story on the stickers that people are applying to TFL's underground publicity notices included this great add-on to the familiar tube line:

A review that I wrote for Snow White and The Hunstman was described in the local paper that I write for as "particularly scathing"

I discovered a shop with a stock of Ritter Sport which are even harder to find than Dairy Milk Toffee Popcorn.

THen I walked out and swallowed a bug though, so swings and roundabouts I guess

Is Chief not talking about the bug in the blu-ray that meant they've all had to be recalled?

Oh, right, sorry I think they were replaced, my copy is working fine just now

EDIT: Yeah, I'm way past where 4 glitches were said to be, so I got a good copy. They were replaced last week and my sister bought me it yesterday

Just got a private message on facebook from an old university friend.

I used to be good pals with him in our 1st year (this 9 years ago) as we lived in halls together, but once we all moved out we kinda lost touch. We'd bump into each other intermittently but never really made the effort to keep a friendship.

He just messaged me now because he's moving house and was clearing some stuff out when he came across a birthday card I'd given him in 1st year, and it had a list of words and phrases that obviously had funny meaning to us back then. Some of them I don't recognise and have no idea what they were about but are funny to read all the same, and some of them I remembered straight away.

Total blast from the past and made me smile.
