I've not found them brilliantly reliable but at least they're not Zoverstocks. There's another query on their competence a couple of threads down.

They're a mixed bag to be honest, although this is fairly well documented. Sounds like you've had a couple of lucky experiences with them. I had an excellent experience with them recently, so cannot claim that they are all bad, and in the wake of other retail giants going down the pan, they may be 'bucking their ideas up'.

However it must be said that they do have a reputation for not sending items out for aaaaaages after you order, sending out used stock, charging you twice for one item, and also for having the worst customer service ever (particularly if you need to return something)

I use zavvi quite a lot as I'm not really bothered about how quickly something arrives and they generally have the best prices.

The biggest problem I've had with zavvi is the amount of packages that go missing, however I put this down to Irish mail being shit. When I have contacted customer services about this I've had no problem with getting a replacement copy or refund. So I would rate their customer service as excellent.

Not a scorching deal, but just picked up Rust And Bone from Sainsburys Entertainment which has an exclusive extra disc and is £10.99 as opposed to £16+ on Amazon/Zavvi.

Is there a trick to getting them to understand it's a refund you've opted for? Sway had no luck dealing with them on this - I think she'd agree with DK on the customer service.

Put me down as another one that's had no problems with Zavvi. I've ordered quite a bit off them recently and I've not had one single delivery arrive later than the estimated date (although it does tend to be towards the tail end of the estimated date range), not had one item go missing in the post or had any cause to complain about the state of the package when it's arrived.

I can't comment on their customer service as I've had no cause to contact them.

I know it's not stictly Blu-ray but at the moment you can get John Woo's Red Cliff 2 disc special edition dvd for £3 in FOPP or £2 if you buy anything else in store.

Is that the full director's cut version - not the edited international cut?

Just to clarify on my previous Zavvi comments, I myself have not actually had a truly negative experience on them, i am going by what fellow posters on Blu-ray.com post and A LOT of people have regular problems with them.

Arrow Films sale on their own site, DVD, BR, duals, ltd ed, steelbooks and extras. The few I've looked at are priced lower than Amazon including the new release Dead End Drive In. I'd still check. I got stuff out their classic sale last week - very quick delivery.

I've never had a bad experience with them

The people on blu-ray for the most part have no patience. They condemn a company if they don't get their purchase within 24hours...

I'm having a bad experience right now with them, still no despatch on my Seven Psychopaths steelbook. I have patience, but the release day was Monday

Does anyone else think since the implosion of HMV (although they look like they'll be back online soon) decent bargains are now hard to come by? What with HMV going under and PLAY now using external sellers the only way to get any sort of a bargain is either amazon or the hut. I am starting to get so annoyed with the bargain hunting that I just can't be bothered looking anymore.

The amount of blu ray i purchase has taken a serious nose dive. there are several reasons for this, firstly i own over 600 so it's getting a bit ridiculous now, secondly there's very little out there that i actually want, so it's a case of just waiting for new releases.

The dvd set had the edited versions of LW2 and LW4 anyway so along with the extras you got a good deal.

Picked up Iron Man 2 2disk & The Hunger Games 3disk on Blu Ray at £10 each when I went shopping in Sainsbury but had coupon with £4.50 off if spending £30 & found a coupon for £2.59 off price match outside before I went in so result they only set me back £12.91
Also got the Lethal Weapon Box-set for only £10 there about a month ago.
