Not a fan of him myself but he has a few good film performances to his name.

I find he's really underrated as an actor.

There's just something about him I don't like that much, despite the fact I like his performances a lot, especially in Mrs. Brown and The X-Files. I've got no time at all for his comedy stuff. He's another big name in the cast though, seems to be a much more famous group of actors than when LOTR was cast.

Although saying that Gimli, the dwarves are called 'relatively unknowns'.

Am I the only person who thinks that the dwarves look somehow...wrong? Far too prosthetic-y looking which I believe will end up ruining the film. I hope the performance sovercome this issue or else I am as likely to be invested in this bunch of characters as I am in an episode of skins.

Although compared the JRD, the prosthetics have been vastly reduced. I think we'll be able to tell more from the next trailer (hint, Mr. Jackson, hint.)

Up until now this film has not really grabbed me, then I saw the picture of Bilbo with Sting. Not sure what it is about it but now I suddenloy have a feeling this will be great.

Can't wait.

Welcome aboard, St3veeBee

Here's a little snippet from Benedict Cumberbatch about working on The Hobbit, courtesy of TORn:~

quote:

ORIGINAL: The One Ring [dot] Net

I was in isolation with [Peter Jackson] and this incredible tag team. And at the very cool place with that technology doing mo-cap for two characters, Smaug the dragon and another character, which will remain nameless, and it was an awful lot of fun.

I spent a lot of time recording voice as well as doing movements. So, it was sort of freeing; it was fun. It was like playing a game. Itís going to be an amazing film; itís going to be a real treat.

I cannot wait!
