catchy dialogue...
steady action..
exciting concept...
great set period..
and lest we forget .. gorgeous Jennifer

made for a damn good movie which must have been played on Sky Movies about 600 times between 1992 - 94

not too sure it could work again .. what could they possibly add?

It could be fun to see more adventures with the Rocketeer in that ace era. He could be reluctantly roped in and sent on adventures by the feds. Cliff could grow in confidence with what he can do.

The trailer makes it look so much better than it actually is.

Love this film.  And Jennifer Connoley's boobs, of course.

Hell yes, they look cracking in every thing but it was the icing on the cake for me in Rocketeer. Very nice Av by the way Heskin, where did you get it?

I got it from an animated GIFs group on the social networking site Virb.  It was one of their better ones.

Still think Connelly has gotten better as she's aged.

And yes, it's a pity Mulholland Falls wasn't that good.

She gets prettier as time passes, I agree. But I miss the boobies! The scrawniness set in after she got married, it seems. Does Paul Bettany have some kind of prejudice against marvellous mammaries, do you think? Someone needs to start sending her doughnuts.

Ahem.

Anyway, yes, Rocketeer - great film! No remake required.

I think if there isn't one already there may need to be a whole separate Jennifer Connelly thread. There's still love for Rocketeer. There may be more love for Jennifer.

It is an excellent score. It fits so perfectly. Respect to James Horner!

Really want a jacket like Cliff Secord's or at least in "the style of". Any suggestions?

I love The Rocketeer. Great film.

Trivia Tidbit: I didn't know that some of the footage used in The Rocketeer was actually test footage shot for Shawshank Redemption. Then I saw this video:

Great movie, simple, great score, comic book Nazis. What other art deco heroes do we have?

It's a bit pricey at £225 but

I remember seeing someone here who had purchased an Indiana Jones Jacket from them.

Thought I'd give this thread a bump as I absolutely love this film, watched it again recently (twice actually) and it still holds up as a wonderful fun adventure movie. So many great little moments like on the blimp when Timothy Dalton says something like "this is the best pilot in the world, he can get us anywhere" and then he just get's shoved out the window! That had me in fits of laughter, really wish they had done a sequel.

That is a bit pricey. Still, great jacket though! It is just such a great film. I think Joe Johnston is very underrated. I loved Captain America for lots of reasons but one of them was that it reminded me of Rocketeer so much. He really loves that era doesn't he?

I used to wish there had been a sequel too but have now realised it's just good to have had one complete story that was pretty faithful to the graphic novels and not risk spoiling it with any mishandled follow ups.

Funnily enough I was reading one of my old Empire back issues the other evening and it had the original Empire review of The Rocketeer as well as a large-ish article on it. Haven't seen it in years and really fancy seeing it again.

Does anyone know if it is still available on DVD?

Wish a special edition with some proper features would come out, wouldn't mind a commentary from the director etc.
