Solskjaer is an interesting idea

"Beckham... into Sheringham... and Solskjaer has won it! Name on the trophy!"

I hope he gets the job. He's a nice bloke, seems very intelligent and should give United the usual ex-player six points every season. I've always quite liked Villa, it would be nice to see them not playing the worst football in the division.

Solskjaer is on the AVFC private jet as we speak to have a meeting with Lerner according to Norwegian Press. Of all the managers mentioned, Ole is the only one so far that fills me with confidence that Lerner knows what he's doing

Aye if I was a Villa fan I'd be quite excited about this prospect - one of the most intelligent players in the history of the premiership and he seems to have carried that over into management too. Good move.

He hasn't. The situation at the moment is that Villa have said they will be speaking to other possible managers & that OGS have left it with Villa to contact him. Otherwise he will be seeing out his contract with Molde.

Well he has officially said No now. Shame because I think a young, intelligent and enthusiatic manager would be perfect for us.

Our one interesting choice is gone...rroll on Lambert, Martinez or the other Scottish guy. Bleh.

How about Steve Bruce? He was at Birmingham once.
Shame about Solskjaer, I'd like to see him back in the English game.

Best feeling about the club in years as far as I'm concerned. I have genuine faith in Lambert, and it seems the players do too. Of course I know next season will still be tough, and it will be a while before we are competeing for europe again but at least we are positive now!

Looks like the first signing of Lamberts reign will be soon as well:  El Ahmadi from Feyenoord.

Up the Villa!

I'm hearing Villa signed a young English full back in principle yesterday

Good, Danny Simpson's not everyone's cup of tea but he's the closest thing we've got to a goal-line-clearance specialist.

What is it about Paul Lambert and players at our football club? A good month of messing around with Dale Stephens and now it sounds like he's going down the same road with Bradley Pritchard. If you want him then make a reaonable offer, if it's reasonable I'm sure we'll accept but if not just drop it, Pritchard is a good player but I'm not sure he's up to Premiership standard yet but by the same token we're not going to give him away for peanuts when he's a very useful asset to us at this level.

Oh dear God what is happening with Villa at the moment? I really think we are going to go down. I went up to watch the Wigan game and it was probably the worst performance I have ever seen. We were absolutely terrible. The worst thing is, Wigan didn't even play that well. As for the Bradford result, well sadly that was coming. It's a small miracle we managed to beat Ipswich, but I don't see us winning away at Milwall in the next round. As for the league, I don't think there are any teams that I would say are definitely worse than us at the moment. The problem is, Lambert is trying to get us to play good football with bad players. To be honest, we'd probably be better off just hitting the long ball up to Benteke all game. Oh we'll, on a brighter note, at least my local team, Forest Green Rovers are doing well...

Game on. Its that man again Benteke. I don't think away goals count in this do they?

Be interesting to see if a win here would kickstart Villa's season, or if they'll "do a Birmingham".

LOL

Away goals only count after extra-time so would only come in to play if Bradford scored again and Villa scored another 3!

IF Chelsea go through tomorrow then it's likely that Bradford will be in Europe next season

I could've sworn that if the Carling Cup winners already had a European Spot then their Europa League spot goes to the team that finishes 6th in the Premier League - so hoping I'm wrong though

It's all well and good doing it for a couple of matches in a cup but if Bradford are so good why don't they do it week in week out and get out of lower depths of the league?

I believe it's known as raising your game for the big occasion. Don't worry, I can appreciate that as an Arsenal fan you may have become unfamiliar with the phenomenon

At least Big Eck won this competition while he was getting relegated. Bloody hell.

Well last night was absolutely pathetic. It's all very well giving Bradford credit, but let's be honest, they're in LEague Two for a reason - because they're rubbish. The fact that they beat us over two legs says a lot more about us than it does about them. Away at Milwall next, and we're guaranteed to lose that one too.

No you're right...I was thinking of Birmingham but then I remembered that they beat Arsenal!
