I know this show has a few fans on this forum so I though I'd give them a heads up that it's being repeated on ITV3 daily, in the morning at 10:30 or 10:40 then (I assume) the same episode at around 6 (times vary day to day).

I've missed the start but it looks like it's the first episode as Sam's getting used to the time travel aspect. Fingers crossed they'll show the entire series.

Oh boy!

I'm recording this every day...... and watched Genesis (Part 1) last night.  Still good stuff!!!

Not entirely sure whether or not ITV are doing it series by series.  I seem to remember that the pilot show ended with Sam jumping into the body of a Baseball player, yet episode 2 is different.
However, I know that when originally shown in the UK, some episodes were shown out of sync.

Don't worry - it appears to be in order. Genesis Pt 2 was on last night and did contain the baseball sequence, I imagine you saw the pilot as an extended two hour episode.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well the whole thing stood up actually. I liked the scenes where Sam tries to talk to his Dad in the past.

Did they always give us a tease for the next episode throughout the show's run? Or did they abandon that at some point?

When it was shown on BBC the pilot was indeed just one part.

I seem to remember that they always ended the episode with Sam jumping into the body of the person from the next episode - that was it's hook.  You had to watch next week to see what happened.
I really should have left Part 1 on Sky+ and transferred it to video......... oh well.

Yeah, an episode always ends with Sam leaping into someone one else and we get to see the start of his predicament until he says 'Oh Boy'. Just a warning though, even on the DVD where the episodes are presumably in order, sometimes the leaps at the end don't correspond with the next episode. Bit weird, but hey.

Such a good show.

I was never that much of a fan of the show, but now I got my brother season 1 on DVD its starting to grow on me.

Did they ditch the Bakula voiceovers at some point?

Aw man.  Im so tempted to run out and buy this.

My dad had a video of Quantum Leap from years ago.  It was a two-parter and the first one was called 'The Leap Home'  where Sam leaps into his own body as a teenager and his quest is to win a basketball game that he lost when in high school, but hes more occupied with trying to stop his brother from going to Vietnam.  The second one is where Sam leaps into the body of a man in Vietnam who is in the same regiment as his brother.  Its a very good two-parter.  Very emotional

Indeed, that is a great episode and one of the reasons why I enjoy the later seasons more because they start to deal with Sam and Al's personal history. I love the whole thing about Al being captured in that episode too.

I got the first season for christmas, I had only seen bit and peices of it before, but I have now watched the first half of pilot, it was great. Question, why is Al's computer thingy different, from what I saw it was sleek and black, but I remember it beging all flashy and colourful.

I fucking love Quantum Leap. I have every episode on VHS taped off Sky One years ago when they showed it every weekday at 5pm (uncut version at 10). For my money, season 4 has some of the best epsidoes the show every produced. Season 2 is great too (Another Mother is one of my faves)

I only have season 1 on dvd so far but I'll buy the rest when I have the cash

I've watched a bit more of season 1, and I'm really enjoying it, I especialy loved the ep with whats her face from Desperate Housewives and Lois & Clark. The mafia one was great aswell, I liked the way he jumped into a guy in exactly the same place and time, and he had to do that bingo thing, very funny. Definitly wanna get season 2

Just a change in design. The later, flashier console is far superior.

I still haven't got Season 5 on DVD yet. I need to complete it. Next time I have a bit of money I'll buy that and Lost Season 2.

Working my way through season 2 at the episode 'Another Mother' is the best yet. Just how cute is that little girl. A little bit of backstory as to why the boy is targeted would have been nice but loved it nonetheless

Was one of the best things on TV when it was originally shown.

I've just started watching the dvds now (I bought each one on release, but have held off watching till I had the lot), and am glad to see its just as good as I remembered.

Even better, its been that long since I've seen it that there are only one or two episodes I recall properly, so its similar to a first viewing again!

*Spoilers*

I watched the one where someone's trying to trick that woman into thinking her dead husband is talking to her the other day and this quote was in it.

AL: "I'm not into necrophilia"

Sam: "Finally, something sexual you're not into"

Well, it made me laugh anyway

I'm just about to finish Season 2 now. Still loving it. The one I am looking forward to the most though is the episode in season(4?) where Sam is in the eygyptian tombs. Apparently this episode is cursed, people who watched it on it's initial airings suffered from strange experiences, hmm

I've heard a lot of bad things about Season 5, is it really as bad as it is made out to be?

I have to say yeah, it's (Season 5 that is) really poor. They've just run out of ideas and used a lot of famous people in the storylines to try and improve the ratings. The Vampire episode is just terrible. There are one or two decent ones, I really like the JFK special (not sure if that's a popular view, but I think it really works) in particular. They brought a rival leaper into the storyline and it's a decent concept, but they don't really explore it well enough and it's left hanging.

They're being re-run on ITV3 at the moment, so you might want to watch it on there before deciding on DVDs and so on. Unless you're a completist.

Cheers Cap'n. Yeah i'm a completist. Have to have the final episode, plus the boxset is a shiny yellow!

Just seen the season 2 finale, how sad is that! Poor Al. Fantastic ending! Now onto Season 3 with The Leap Home

Vampire episode? I must of erased that one from my memory. The last episode of the season pulls it out of the bag though, to provide one of the best series finales ever.

I remember seeing this one and being really upset by the conclusion. But looking back it was truly fitting. It really has left the fans divided though

Just for my two cents worth, i got season 5 and managed to watch the last frigging disk first without looking at the episode detail! so i watched the series finale(which i have never seen) before watching everything else!
To be fair, i was fairly disappointed by the ending, i mean it tied a few ends up but annoyed me that he was still leaping. Come on, the blokes been through a lot!

Watched that one last night - that little girl is unbelievably cute.  And her final scene with Al brought a tear to my eye!

A particularly bland episode yesterday.  Sam helps his native American 'grandfather' escape from a care home inorder to return to the reservation where he wants to die.  Booooring.

Today's looks good though!

Oh, I thought that at the end of yesterday's episode Sam turned up in a mortuary?
