I'm not fussed on achievement points and I'm not gonna whore them out, I just want a game that is genuinely fun to play and doesn't cost a fortune.

Alot of the older games, Kameo for example, have often tempted me but I've never spoken to anyone whose played it. I'm also tempted to try out Blue Dragon.

So yeah, what games would you recommend to buy and why?

EDIT: Might aswell throw this out for discussion and make it for any console.

My favourite game on the 360 is either Bioshock or CoD4. For some reason CoD4 hasn't reduced in price since it first came out but whilst browsing Game yesterday lunch I noticed Bioshock was selling (2nd hand) for £9.99 - I'd suggest that if you haven't already played it.

Other games that I enjoyed and are pretty cheap:

Dead Rising
Gears of War
Oblivion

You can currently pick up Mass Effect from Argos for £9.99. An absolute steal at that price. Bioshock is well worth a tenner too.

Yeah - I've got the Bioshock special edition with the Big Daddy figure. I might go back and play Bioshock again.

I bought that last week and liking it at the moment. I do sometimes intentionally wait for games to drop in price before buying them and you can usually pick them up second quite cheap after half a year or so.

The Darkness was pretty enjoyable. It's worth it for a tenner as you could probably trade it back in for a fiver once you've done with it.

I haven't played it but Game were also selling Tomb Raider 2nd hand for £3.98. That's probably the cheapest I've ever seen a 360 game sell for. I should imagine you'd get your money back via trade in at Blockbusters once you've played it, too.

Well worth a punt for that price.  It's Tomb Raider, so there's not gonna be any surprises, but for £4, it seems rude not to.  They're also selling Splinter Cell DA for the same price.  That's 30p more than a Reggee Reggee Sub.

In the same sale, I got Burnout Paradise for £15, which is great fun.

I forgot to mention the"sale" at Blockbuster. I was walking past my local store the other day and I noticed a "Buy one get one free" poster in the window. I walked in thinking I could get Soul Caliber and another new title for £40. Turns out the titles are mainly older ones priced at £30 each. The price per game is slightly high but they would work out £15 each if you bought two. You may find a couple of titles you fancy from a year or so ago.

Gamestation have 4 for £20 on some old and cheap games worth a go...

Kameo - beautiful game, good story, probably pick up for a fiver
Tomb Raider Legend - the only TR I've ever enjoyed
Crackdown - brilliant GTA clone that is actually better in some areas
Bullet Witch - hey I'm enjoying it!

plus other worth a go like NHL2k6 (and 2k7), NHL 07 (not as good), Prey, PGR3, Smackdown 07 and a few more

Not bad for a fiver a go

You should be able to pick up Gun for cheap.  Terrific game!  What's more fun than riding horseback and shooting your rifle?  What?

To be honest there is loads on sale at the moment. Use somthing like http://uk.gamestracker.com/Default.htm
Type in the name of the game you want and it will find the cheapest price. I use it all the time. So many great games are on sale for under £20. Bioshock, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Lego Star Wars complete saga , Crackdown are all under £20.

I use find-dvd.co.uk but that one seems to be more up-to-date.

Got Ninja Gaiden II in Game (shock! gasp!) for €25 yesterday 

Also ordered Eternal Sonata from sendit.com for £9.99.

 I've just learned that Sony have taken the PS2 'Platinum Range' idea and applied it to PS3..... hooray!  PS3 games for 15 quid, good stuff!  It's early days so far with only a few titles, but obviously this will expand over the months and people should be able to pick up older titles cheap.

 Managed to get these 360 games ALL on the cheap:

Oblivion
Blacksite - 2 for £18 in Blockbusters

Stranglehold - £7.99 in Blockbusters

Tenchu Z - £12.99 in Blockbusters

Condemned 2
Turok - 2 for £30 in Gamestation

PES6 - £2.99 in Gamestation.

All the ones in Blockbusters i just traded in a load of DVDs, so they were cheaper still!! MUCH cheaper over in the UK that what you would pay here in Ireland. For example: Condemned 2 you can expect to pay around €49.99 for it pre-owned.

 I was in Game yesterday and they had a big sale on pre-owned games.  Crackdown was about £7.98, which is ridiculously good value (STILL my favourite 360 game) and Prey was an impressive £3.98... I'd have bought that, actually, except I already have Prey for the PC.

Also in Gamestation - Football Manager 2006 for £2.99 on Xbox 360.  Outdated yes, but that's gotta be worth it, hasn't it?

I'd take the plunge, but I already have it on the PC and don't have time to play 2 versions of it.

Morrisons are selling all there 360 and PS3 chart games for £25.

Popped in there eariler and saw, Soul Calibur 4, MGS 4, Bad Company, GTA and many more.

I'm broke so I didn't pick up anything

The Morrison's deal also has chart Wii and DS games for £15/£12

I got Mario Kart and Lego Indy for £15 each.  Smash Bros was probably the only other good game.
