Private Practice is the brand spanking new spin-off from the award-winning show Grey’s Anatomy. Heaven knows when Grey’s Anatomy’s next season will appear on LivingTV so our McDreamy fixes and medical emergencies will have to suffice with Addison’s adventures in Santa Monica in lieu of Seattle. With the eye-candy likes of Chris Lowell, Timothy Daly and Taye Diggs I doubt it’d be any hardship!  Or Kate Walsh, Amy Brenneman and Audra McDonald for the lads. (Interestingly McDonald was a replacement from the backdoor pilot episode in Grey’s Season 3).

The premiere was last Tuesday and for those who found themselves glued to it - this is no Grey’s Anatomy. The setting is tighter with the chic private practice and the patients are minimal. The next episode entitled “In Which Sam Receives an Unexpected Visitor” is on tonight. The jury’s always out for me til the 2nd-3rd episode, though as soon as I saw Addison’s “I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’” towel dance I was biased to love yet another glossy American TV drama

I'm currently loving series 3 of Grey's (yes, I don't mind admitting it!) so I'll no doubt be watching this if and when it makes its way to
terrestrial TV.

Saw a handful episodes of Private Practice. I'm not exactly hooked, but I enjoyed it. Haven't gotten to any real dramatic stories (dont't know if they're gonna - for me its fine the way it is) yet but the overall scirpting is tight and good. Kate Walsh is by far the best of the ensemble cast but all the rest of the quirky cast is also a hoot.

I'm just coming up to the end of Season 3 of Grey's and have just seen the cross-over episode.  I'm afraid it didn't really work for me.  I've grown to love Miranda, MacSteamy, George et al over at the SGH and I know its difficult for the new team straight off the bat, but they didn't really hook me.  Plus they didn't seem to be troubled much by patients.  I know the spiderweb of bed-hopping in Grey's is silly to the extreme, but I don't think I could take another series doing the same thing, but without the OR and bedside tribulations to off-set it.

I didn't enjoy the first season, but Paul Adelstein, Amy Brenneman and Chris Lowell save it from being terrible. I was a big fan of Addison in Grey's Anatomy, but at times she seems like a completely different person in this show. Also, how many love triangles does one show need? I think every character was involved in one during the first season. The creator has already said they’re going to reboot the show when the second season airs, so hopefully some improvements will be made.

Oh my, last night's second episode was heart-rending! To just imagine a "mistake” of swapped children at birth and the scene where the two mothers exchange their daughters… It's got me welling up just at remembering it.

I'm really enjoying the relationship between Cooper and the hopeless psychiatrist  More than any of the others, in fact. I can see where people are coming from in that the series will be fairly average though when looking at Addison's overall changeable demeanour.

I've never seen Gray's Anatomy but Private Practise is really good. It has light humour coupled with serious drama. The cast are brillant. My best line so far is 'this boy is baking cakes at me!'.

I was a bit sceptical about private practice but wanted to give it a fair shot. I like it so far. It has a bit of a "house" element to it and I like how sometimes all the different specialisms work together on a case. It still has those weepy moments that Greys pulls off so well but feels more laid back. And the characters are well written and are memorable.

Looking forward to Greys coming back but so far this will definately satisfy! This part of the year is always a lull in the schedules so its nice that it is on now because to be honest my sky + planner is looking a bit bare

Probably wouldn't throw the 'us' about too liberally - if I remotely resembled any of these emotionally immature freaks I'd go out and shoot myself!
