ORIGINAL: Epiphany Demon Russell Brand, for me personally, is one of the funniest men on TV today. His stand up's hilarious, his chat show appearances are legendary, and his book was entertaining enough. I haven't yet seen him in FSM though, but I'm aware he plays himself. That would be enough to make me laugh to be honest, but he's always going to play that type of character, so won't have a chance to branch out into more dramatic roles. Please elaborate on what exactly makes Russell Brand "one of the funniest men on TV today."? In itself a fairly weak compliment. I think Bob Geldoff put it succinctly when he called him a "c**t". I loved the way Stewart Lee de-constructed Brand with a few sentences in his stand-up routine. Probably the only comedian to whom I pay attention as he's the only one to call out these guttersnipes for what they are. quote:
ORIGINAL: t_bell Just a question - and feel free to tell me to fuck off but... Might we all be just jealous because he is a very funny man, very intelligent and attractive to women? Like I said, just a question. Great material there. You'd make a better comedian than Brand. quote:
ORIGINAL: benjaminlwright He trained as an actor. Then moved onto presenting and then comedy and then combined the two. Acting was his first love though, apparently. Yep, so much so that when someone criticised him in his final year of studying drama. He smashed a piece of glass over his head and stabbed himself a few times. Probably the only sane thing he's ever done. quote:
ORIGINAL: Lady Windermere He is a tit. But I think he has the potential to be great. If he wants to realise his potential, he should lend his face to the next generation of Winmau dartboards.
