Is it spoiler free? Otherwise, I'll have to avoid. Excitement has just reached unprecedented levels.

this is shaping up to be one of the best films in a long time, certainly on reviews alone it will be the best super-hero film, and it seems as if it will break B.O records too

Cannot wait for this film to come out

Well the star rating isn't exactly surprising. I need to see the film NOW.

This just adds to the anticipation! I mean how long have we been waiting for this movie, including all the build up, viral campaign, casting, pictures, trailers etc.... and all the buzz and excitement it seems is going to be worth every second of the wait we have endured. How rare is it that the hype actually matches the finished article-a quick answer is rarely! My God I can't wait anymore to see this!

Not wishing to be picky but how can Empire's Mark Dinning give TDK 5 stars then say in his review it's not perfect?

Films don't have to be perfect to get five stars, just exceptionally good.

The almost obvious and obligatory 5 stars, yes, but a review which is balanced and supportive and doesn't give much away, merely wets the appetite.

Seeing a preview screening on the 23rd, cannot wait.

Imagine the backlash if it had gotten 4 stars? 3 stars? Legions of people who haven't seen it yet would still have been foaming at the mouth defending it.

Can you name a film that is universally regarded as perfect? I don't think there is one.

One or two minor flaws doesn't mean it can't get the highest rating.

Can I raise my hand and say I'm a little disappointed that it didnt get 4 stars for this very reason?

The comments people are leaving on Rotten Tomatos for any rotten reviews are scary.

Me too..well just at little bit I'll need to go check those comments at Rotten Tomatoes, rabid, incoherent message board hate, you can't beat it for entertainment

I hope it lives up as I really wasn't  that impressed with Batman Begins (don't know why).

Unfortunately I won't get to see it until September to judge for myself (well at least it is one of the few films which is shown here in the original language, yay.)

My anticipation level for this movie is ready to burst right now. I watched Batman Begins on Blu-ray at the weekend, which in itself was a fantastic experience. Then the 6-minute TDK prologue is a HD extra on the Bllu-ray set and THEN my copy of the TDK soundtrack arrived yesterday. Good times.

Never before have I been so caught up in the hype and felt that it was actually deserved.

I have tickets for one of those preview screenings on the 23rd and then am off to watch it on IMAX on 1 August.

Cannot. Wait.

Gotta say Empire, best worded review in the last year you have there.

True, except for the 'force of fucking nature' bit. That was a little lazy.

Calm down chaps - though I'm sure this will be a fine film (personally I was not a fan of 'Begins' so I'll wait for the DVD), just remember that alot of you seem to disagree with Empires initial reviews of things (Indy 4 and a Star Wars film the title of which escapes me springs to mind...).

Don't go in with your expectations TOO stratospheric, just in case eh?

I mulled over that line myself. In the end, I went with it. I think it nicely summed up the pure emotion that seems to be behind Ledger's performance as the Joker. The rest of the review is all properly worded (well done Mr. Editor!) but it's like the Joker's manic disregard for rules and propriety seeped into the review itself.

In any other context, though, swearing isn't big or clever. Don't do it kids!

And in other news, I can't wait for this. It's almost unfair on Wall-E - saw it last night and loved it, but already it's yesterday's news!

I tried to avoid reviews, I really did.

....but I couldn't resist, curse you Empire (I also then read Peter Travers equally glowing review in Rolling Stone). I just didn't want to hype it up too much in my mind. It just looks so damn spectacular, anyway screw that, hype levels are now certainly at maximum capacity. :)

I was already planning on buying a second ticket so I would have an empty seat for the enormous boner I'll be sporting when I see this, but perhaps I should buy two.

You mean like Wall-E and Bourne Ultimatum?

I'm not surprised with the 5-star rating, to be honest, there hasn't been a more inevitable 5-starrer since the last LOTR film. May go see this, though.

I loved Batman begins and have high hopes that this will at least equal if not surpass it but a word of caution folks, weve all been burned by Empires supposedly ''great'' reviews of certain films(Im looking at you Superman returns and Indy 4!)so please have some reasonable expectations.

Because by then the bandwagon would have rolled away.
