I think L4D & L4D2 need alittle TLC sometime soon! Haven't played L4D in ages and I'm still to start L4D2. Soon!

Full vid of that trailer I posed the other day.

It gets a little mad.

I think 'Ghost' makes an appearance somewhere in there! Absolutely nuts!

I laughed out loud when Master Chief showed up, and then was grinning right through to end, guessing which franchise would show up next.

And then the chainsaws came out.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting the other characters. I just thought they were going to finish off the Zombies running at them and then shotgun the Witch in the back of the head.......but then I see what looks like a Master Chief......fuck me......it is Master Chief! WTF!?!?!

Then it all went nuts!

Aargh! Why do I always do it?!  Do not read Youtube comments!
It was awesome, but everyone just saying how it went to shit.  Even though, obviously, they've never produced anything.  Ever.  Fuck, I hate Youtube comments!

To be fair the switch was jarring. As a left 4 dead video it was going really well ... then suddenly the tone shifts completely and it does feel like an Xbox advert. I still enjoyed it though and wouldn't just slag it off as "it went shit" etc that's stupid. There's a difference between just slagging something off and constructive criticism. The former usually appears much more on the internet in general ...

Left 4 Dead ... yeah I miss playing it.

I also miss playing L4D! It's sat in my cupboard waiting for me....whilst I wait for 'Dark Knight and Borstal' to get bored with what they are currently playing, and recruit me for some more Zombie Smashing sessions, aswell as introduce me to the 2nd installement.

It may not be tomorrow, it may not be next week, but soon....once again, I will be tricked by Borstal into running up to a witch whilst shining my torch in her face, only to be hacked to death with the sound of laughter down the mic, along with a "sorry Pratt" from Borstal.

Yes we need to 'introduce' Matt to the goodies in L4D2. You got Turtle Beaches Matt?

To celebrate Zombie Jesus Day does anyone fancy a run through of Left 4 Dead 2 on Monday? I've had the game since launch and I still haven't played it.

There is no game as fun with a bunch of mates as L4D (or 2).

I'm presuming most here play on PC? (aka the only place to play FPS games...)

You'll slot in well on here PC definitly a minority. Apparently you can play FPS on consoles too and you'd have a lot of fun playing with all us.

No porn on 360 though

Its been discussed many times here in joypad. Heres my standard response.

I used to have a top gaming PC, loved Half-Life, Unreal Tourny, Deus Ex and Medal of Honour. Obviously Starcraft too but eventually after all the tinkering, upgrading I had enough. A top PC is better than a console. Mouse and keyboard are quicker but Im happy enough to play games designed to be used with a pad, on a level playing field. I'd love more homebrew type levels for console games but as it is Im more than happy with console gaming. Plus its less plagued with hacks.

Pc gaming is really thriving again thanks to BF2 and the MMOs. As you mentioned its quicker, prettier etc but also remember the Mods. This adds to a games lifespan by a few months.

Hacks can be an issue, MW3 is sometimes unplayable because of this.

ANYWAY: back to l4d. Does anyone else miss the mutation Taaaaaaank? I loved that! Wish they would make it permanent.

I hate TANKS! Well, not these ones obviously......they go BOOM!

I can remember playing L4D2 for the first time and having to hold off against tons of Zombies whilst waiting for the boat. I then heard the haunting music which occurs when a Tank is coming.......1 is bad enough but 3!!!!

Taking the piss me think! There was no Geest or Borstal to help.......probably wanted to see how I coped with it. Not very well either.......

Look through this thread ... you'll see my posts from the last year wanting to play this.

Can never get a squad going and I'm busy myself. Shame. Almost started playing at work but was oh so poor I didn't bother. So I dragged everyone onto TF2 instead as it's free.

Deffo haven't played 2 as much as 1. In fact Left 4 Dead demo has probably been my most played. I've clocked mercy hospital too many times!

I got all excited about this ..until I actually read about it. It's all content that's been available for ages! Is the final Cold Stream any different to the Beta that has been available for months?

I am happy to see Tannnnnnnk! is now available at all times...such a fun mutation.

I miss this game. I might have to dust it off for this. They should bring out achievements for bringing Gnomey through every level. Ah the memories...

Copied and pasted from this thread in Christmas 2009.

It took me and 2 mates 4 hours last night on bloody normal to get him through the campaign, the sheer panic at the finale trying to get to the helicopter, "WHERE'S GNOMEY????". Me and one of the lads got to the helicopter while the other took charge of getting Chompski to the helicopter while we tried our best to cover him, he got over run about 20 yards away and had to drop our little child that we had brought so far so he could defend himself, so I jabbed myself with adrenalin, leapt out of the helicopter with the katana ready and started slicing zombies heads off. My friend hobbled onto the chopper while I grabbed Gnomey and ran and jumped back onto the chopper, and away we were with some tasty achievement points and our little Chompski safe and sound.

It was a lot more exciting and tense than I made that out to be. The 2 mates being Jay and Smartian I think. I'm pretty sure Jay was the one to run back for Gnomey while Smartian cowered on the chopper.

Love moments like this. It is a bloody frustrating game but when it all comes together you get some of the best moments in gaming.

It also reminds me of the difference between public games and playing with mates.....
