La Chinoise- 10/10- A film which continues Godard's attempts to find a new cinematic alphabet and a new form of cinematic expression, it won't be for everyone. But for those who get what Godard's trying to do, and have a decent knowledge of politics and communism, it's a stunning experience, a lucid vision of what was to come in the May 68 Paris uprising. There's simply nothing else like it in cinema (not even among Godard's work), and I think that sometimes throws people. But I think it's brilliant. 10/10

Unbreakable- 6/10
A film which I think is overrated on these boards. It has some great ideas, but it seems muddled and a lot less smart than it thinks it is. There are some great sequences, though.

The Last Crusade- 5/10
What can I say? I've never been the biggest Indiana Jones fan, so this obviously wasn't going to be among my favourite films. It deserves some marks for some fun set-pieces, but the problems that also plagued the other films are present here, as well. Connery is good, as is Ford. But this just isn't really my thing.

Lol, what? I'm not gonna take insults from a guy who rates Superbad and Definitely, Maybe (which you misspelled) higher than Taxi Driver.

Nah, man, just joking. It was not an attempt at adapting the line "I believe the word you're searching for is space ranger," because I don't know where it's from. Sorry.

Dantes, Taxi Driver is very over-rated as far as I'm concerned, it's clearly dated terribly. Nothing much happens...

Superbad, meanwhile, is, while lacking in plot a little, one of the funniest films I've ever seen. It's the most accuarate depiction of teenage life, plus the cop characters are some of the best of the 21st century. "I'm sorry I blocked your cock"

Definitley, Maybe (which I bet you've yet to even see) is actually one of the most surprisingly touching films I've watched. Plus, before it started I actually wanted to dislike it... I was unable to do so...

Anyway, put Toy Story(s) up!!

Fargo 6/10
I've seen almost all of the Coens' movies and this one was really the only one I didn't really care for. The characters or story just didn't seem to grip me at all as much as evenly/slower-paced Blood Simple or No Country did...   the great acting, editing and Buscemi still makes it well worthwile for us Coen lovers.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
8/10
Aside from the masterpiece that is Raiders, this is by far the best of the sequels. The story is perfect for an Indy-movie, and it never falls into the dumb-action-for-kids pitfalls like for example the miningwagons of Temple of Doom or the silly monkeys and disgusting CGI (when will it stop?) of Crystal Skull.

Really? Fargo doesn't get a lot of 6/10's, hmmm, interesting. The thing I most liked about the film were the characters. I think it's one of their best, like it more than No Country... Ah well, goes to show that there so many opinions as there are movies.

I thought I'd put 4 up for review today as I missed yesterday...

I can't remember enough about Turner & Hooch to rate it except that it was a typical cheesy 80s comedy. Very unlikely to make the chart.

Beauty and the Beast is still the only animated film to be nominated for Best Film at the Oscars and its probably one of Disney's 2D finest. Memorable songs and lovely animation. A surefire classic. 9/10

My Neighbour Totor is simply adorable. Hayazaki has a knack of creating the essence of childhood onscreen and here his talents are at the top of their game. Totoro is a wonderful creation and May is one of the best heroine's in animation. I love it!

Turner and Hooch  I was trying to get my flatmate to watch this for ages, telling him it is my favourite Hanks performance. He never relented. 6/10

B&tB - Wonderful animation, and a great story. But they followed it up with even better films IMO, 8/10

Totoro - I really like, it is one of the most charming in the Studio Ghibli cannon. But not one of the very best. 8/10

Sorry for getting on the boat a bit late...

1) Do we only rate the current day's nominated films?
2) Or can we rate all those from previous days too?
3) Or, can we rate all of those in the top 100 (or more??) if we haven't already been involved with Dante's original thread?

I'll give my ratings for option 2 for now. If we're supposed to be doing option 1, please disregard my extraneous ratings. And if they ain't got a rating, I ain't ruddy seen 'em...

Fargo - 7
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - 9
Black Narcissus -
La Strada -
Floating Clouds -
La Chinoise -
Unbreakable - 8
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - 5.5
Late Spring -
Turner & Hooch - 6
Beauty and the Beast - 5.5
My Neighbour Totoro - 7

Oh, and one other question, is the person's own rating from their top 100 automatically included in the scoring?

The more the merrier mate!!!

Here's the answers to your questions...

1) No.
2) Yes
3) Yes, if you haven't already rated the films then you can give your ratings for the entire Top 100, like I said the more who join in with this the merrier.

As for your final question, no, I have not included the persons own rating from the Top 100 thread. I only include ratings that are made within this thread.
