La Chinoise- 10/10- A film which continues Godard's attempts to find a new cinematic alphabet and a new form of cinematic expression, it won't be for everyone. But for those who get what Godard's trying to do, and have a decent knowledge of politics and communism, it's a stunning experience, a lucid vision of what was to come in the May 68 Paris uprising. There's simply nothing else like it in cinema (not even among Godard's work), and I think that sometimes throws people. But I think it's brilliant. 10/10 Unbreakable- 6/10 A film which I think is overrated on these boards. It has some great ideas, but it seems muddled and a lot less smart than it thinks it is. There are some great sequences, though. The Last Crusade- 5/10 What can I say? I've never been the biggest Indiana Jones fan, so this obviously wasn't going to be among my favourite films. It deserves some marks for some fun set-pieces, but the problems that also plagued the other films are present here, as well. Connery is good, as is Ford. But this just isn't really my thing.
