Day of Wrath - 8/10
A sombre and rather creepy drama about infidelity and witch hunts. Not much laughs to be had here.

#13 on rick_7's list...

The Docks of New York (1928)
The smokily erotic ambience of Josef Von Sternberg's silent Docks of New York is best appreciated on a big theatrical screen--but only if the available print is at the very least second-generation.

#14 on rick_7's list...

Robin Hood (1922)
Robin Hood, Douglas Fairbanks' biggest (though not necessarily best) production of the silent era, represents the first time that many familiar of the elements of the Robin Hood legend were presented on screen.

#15 on rick_7's list...

Young Tom Edison (1940)
This account of Thomas Alva Edison's boyhood depict him as a brilliant but rambunctious teenager (Mickey Rooney), often distracted by his own ideas and frequently carried toward disaster by his fascination with his experiments, much to the consternation of his parents, neighbors, and teachers.

#16 on rick_7's list...

Twentieth Century (1934)
Flamboyant, egomaniacal theatrical impresario Oscar Jaffe (John Barrymore) transforms chorus girl Mildred Plotka (Carole Lombard) into leading lady Lily Garland, the toast of Broadway.

Robin Hood (2010) - 5/10
Ridley Scott provides some great action sequences but really the film is a bit of a snooze fest overall. A bit of a disappointment.

Some Kind of Wonderful 7/10 - A sweet and funny little film.

Damsels in Distress 7.5/10 - Won't be to everyones liking but to me is one of the Indie highlights of the year like a more deadpan mean girls but with a bit of Twin Peaks thrown in too, also Greta Gerwig is fantastic.

Deep End 7.5/10 - Enjoyable but tense coming of age thriller with a sinister edge.

I Heart Huckabees - 10/10
Brilliant! A loopy existential comedy with all the cast at the top of their game in very kooky roles. Love the music and that crazy sex scene. One of a kind.

Hanna - 8/10
Cate Blanchett has fun as the wicked witch style villian but this is very much Saoirise Ronan's movie. She's fantastic, as is the Chemical Brothers soundtrack but the director drifts in and out of pretentiousness at times.

also...

Fantastic Mr. Fox - 9/10
Loved it! Don't know why it took me so long to get round to this. Maybe the weird animation style put me off but the merging of Roald Dahl with Wes Anderson's quirky style is inspired and this is one of the most enjoyably creative family films I've seen in a while. Though its probably more aimed at the adults to be truthful. Willem Dafoe's rat and the appearance of the wolf are truly inspired.

IHH is one I have meant to see for years.

The Muppets and Into the Abyss are two of the most exciting films of 2012 for different reasons of course.

Quiz Show is damn near a masterpiece.

Are you possibly confusing it with the companion piece On Death Row (which was a short series).

They're pretty closely linked thematically and in time so I guess that's why. Both excellent though.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - 10/10
Brilliant thriller with Fincher at the top of his game and a quite wonderful performance from Rooney Mara who was robbed at the Oscars this year.

The Tree of Life - 8/10
Verges between absolute masterpiece and complete pretentious nonsense, it's a thin line but it's quite a bewitching, bewildering film and definitely one everyone should see. Pitt is outstanding.
