My Name is Legion:

1. They are not 'personal insults' as I know nothing about them. My phrase 'pubescent morons' can hardly be taken on a personal level. Unless you consider yourself a pubescent moron.

2. They are not criticzing either a film maker or his films. Not if your definition of the word 'criticism' includes some level of considered thought.

Ritchie (like all film makers) has his faults, but he also has genuine moments of greatness and originality. He is no Ratner.

The critism of him has more to do with the fact that he is British and Mr Madonna, rather than any considered crtiqiue of his work. I personally want to see him making films in 25 years. Look at the trailer again. There are some terrific shots. If the same film was directed by Quentin Tarrantino, the same fan wankers would be creaming their pants.

No one said he was!,in fact Im sure his jewellery is lovely
This however..looks Shit!.

(and i love snatch and lock stock.)

I find it strange when people say that Revolver was drivel then go on to say that David Lynch is a genius. Guy Ritchie brought a fresh gerne to the cinema and seems to get constantly slated for it or descibed as a quick thrill entertainer.
I haven't seen cast away and quite frankly don't want to but Lock Stock, snatch and yes Revolver are up there with my favourite flicks.
The trailer for Rockandrolla looks lick a variation of his first two films, I'm cool with that but I feel it is probably through obligation that he returns to this style. I would like to see the man develop some more of his more serious ideas but a slap bang wise crack Ritchie style will do me to.

Thought Lock Stock & Snatch were moderately entertaining if lacking in originality; thought Revolver was atrocious so will approach this new one with caution.  It looks like more of the same to be honest but I'll give it a go.

I know that look; it's the same look my father gave me when I told him I wanted to be a ventriloquist.

Oh Empire, you spoilt me today! Not only you gave me a extra long Eagle Eye trailer which looked fanastic but now you have shown me the exclusive trailer for Rocknrolla, the film I've been waiting for along with many others! I was totally blown away with this, I love it and I so can't wait. Boy, didn't Gerard Butler look hot in it?! Guy Richie, it looks like you got a winner there!

The Stath could at least have a cameo!

Agreed.  He should at least pop his bald in and call someone a "struggle and grunt" if ya catch my mockney rhyming slag--I mean slang

Be first in the queue for this bad boy.  Got a soft spot for the old Ritchie.  Aint sold out to the megabucks of LA for knocking on 10 years now (yes, I know this is a Joel Silver film, but its set in the UK so faaack off) which I'm happy about.

"You bailed out a Jamaican street named Monkey the other day, I want him. This other piece of shit, Screwface, I want him. I know you're a scumbag and a puke, I don't mind that, but give me what I need and I'll leave here a nice guy. If you don't, I'm gonna fuck you up. "

Looks decent. I don't like Guy Ritchie or his films but it seems like he's toned down the wideboy on this one. Plus you can't argue with that cast.

I was disappointed with Revolver. A bit too pretentious for its own good, but not as bad as people would make you believe. Honestly, I think Lock Stock and Snatch are Ritchie's thing. And he is doing it again.

It looks kind of okayish. Just more of the same old stuff though. Frankly, I have never forgiven Ritchie for Revolver, an incomprehensible, wormy turd of a shit ball of a movie..yeah I didnt like it. This is an average looking film, though better than Revol(gasp..splutter..croak)ver, its the same chancer mingling with the same oddballs, eccentrics, hard nuts - with yet another MacGuffin (Shotguns, Diamond..painting) in the mix. I just hope there is a new element in the mix, as I kinda feel I have paid to see this movie three times already to tell you the truth.

Will it be shit? or will it be great? Who knows until the final cut has been watched. I'll make up my mind on the way out of the flicks.

I'm still scheptical having never liked any of Richie's films but, Toby Kebbell looks HOT! (not to mention he can act) so I'll probably check it out.

I loved Lock, stock and Snatch. They are on my all time fav movie list (very big list), though I was very disappointed in Revolver. It just made no sense to me.
With RocknRolla, Guy Richie looks like he is returning to the London Gangster. I hope it has the dark humor of his first two films.
It is definitely one to watch - Though I will wait for an Empire review FIRST before booking my tickets :-)

I liked Lock, Stock and Snatch even if they were essentially Tarantino clones, but it would seem that Guy Ritchie has ripped off one of Tarantino's most darkly comic scenes - did anyone notice the bit in the trailer where Butler was on a bed and gagged, and it looked like he was being shagged from behind? Pulp Fiction anyone?

Anyway I think I'll wait until hearing the critical response to this film. I did exactly the same with Revolver, and ended up renting it instead - biggest load of bollocks.

As long as there isn't an embarrassingly pretentious voiceover in this one it may just be ok. And can someone please realise that Tom Wilkinson can't do an east-end accent to save his life. He sounds fucking Australian!

We saw a trailer for this before Wanted. After a trailer for Tropic of Thunder that everybody was laughing at. This went down like a lead balloon. Not one laugh. Dead silence. Case closed.

Looks like he's going back to his roots like everyone else has said but it wont be as good as Lock Stock or Snatch. But at least this looks better than the awful Revolver!
