Hey Utah...Get me 2! No original cast, no sequel. Can't see an incredibly ill Swayze catching some tubes any time soon! Prove me wrong Pattie!

Can nobody rides for free really be seventeen years ago? How badly do I want to watch Point Break right now.

As much as i'd like to see Swayze back, I can't see it happening. He's in a bad way bless him.

Cant see Patrick Swayze coming back for this, the poor guy is at deaths door apparently. Can see this being a totally new young cast (of probably unknowns) with probably very little to do with the original. Its rare to get an original cast back for a sequel nearly 20 years after the original, unless its something mega like Indiana Jones.

Wouldnt be surprised if it went straight to dvd either, which is a bloody shame, loved the original! Whoa!

Surely we haven't forgotten the REAL Leroy the Masochist?
Always wished they'd got Gazza to surf in Point Break. he learnt for Big Wednesday after all.
Totally love Point Break, even if the surfing was all over the shop and you could tell it was filmed in Hawaii.
Bring it on!

The bit where he shoots himself in the foot is an all-time classic. If he shows up in in the sequel and somehow manages to shoot himself in the other foot, I'm there.

I watched this a few months ago for the first time in years, and I had forgotten just how bad it was. But the good kind of bad.

I'm torn on this slightly. The original was such a classic guilty pleasure that you almost want it to stay put, but the chance of seeing the same again - updated - is just too tempting. As long as we have lines akin to "Young, dumb and full of come", who cares how bad it is?

Nah, Guys, c'mon - ol' patty boy ain't gonna make this, and that would ruin his whole suicidal surf binge at the end of the first movie. I think Helen has this pegged - Utah goes rogue!! Think about it, he let his suspect go, so he's outta the FIB (sorry been playin GTA too much...) how else is he gonna pay for all those super-rad board trips and skydiving jaunts? Let's see:
1 - He has weapons training,
2 - He has insider knowledge of police procedure,
3 - He was already turning to the dark side in the first movie.
Get Keanu back, only this time, he's the bad guy who knows he's bad but just doesn't care....

Hmm, I liked Point Break. It had more or less everything in a 90s movie, action, romance and lots and lots of surfing! Keanu Reeves looked damn hot in that movie, Swayze had a really dodgy wig on his head. But if there is a sequel, they should have the same people and would bring back Patrick after his cancer troubles and may boost Reeves career back from his dud of movies this past few years. So fingers crossed and wonder.

The first one had everything to keep me entertained- shootouts, surfing, car chases and foot chases through back gardens. I hope the sequel has all that and more.

Will Lori Petty be back, I wonder? She was shmokin' hot in Point Break and the last thing I saw her in was (whisper it) Tank (ironically) Girl.

How will this measure up against the sheer majesty of Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift?

I love the idea of a sequel to the fabulous Point Break - for it's time, I thought the action was pretty hardcore. With Point Break 2, they should go crazy. I nominate Michel Mann for director duties, 'Miami Vice' was terrific, and a hugely under-rated film. It's certainly better than 'Heat' which is a little too bubblegum for me. Party on.

I'm dubious about this one, but only slightly reassured that the original director Jan De Bont is going to direct. If Utah comes back as rogue after he threw away his badge at the end of the last film it might give it something. However they need to make sure that they cast the lead right.

I think it might be too much to ask for Bodhi to be back and slightly far fetched as we saw him dissapear under a huge wave, but Lori Petti and John C McGinley as FBI agent Harp would be great additions to the film. I can only hope and pray that this does not end up like Speed 2.

Or Point Break 2: Electric Boogaloo

This could be young dumb and full of... fun.
They should have Jake Busey in it as as Gary's vengeful son tracking down Swazye.
It'll probably be full of no-marks and go straight to DVD though.

Also jtmedia, worse sufers have disappeared under bigger waves and been fine aside from a slight 'washing machine'. Back to film school with you.

The timing of this seems a bit weird, what with Patrick Swyaze probably only having weeks to live. Would be cool to see Keanu swapping sides and becoming the bad guy though.

I love Point Break, the funniest bit is when Keanu Reeves gets horny when they’re night surfing and says “goose bumps” and she says “Yeah, it's cold”
makes me laugh every time.
If you don’t have Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze and cheesy lines
Don’t make point break 2.

Yo, Johnny! I see you in the next life!
