Madonna will be happy now knowing her song will no longer be the worst James Bond's theme.

Ronson's a terrible choice. All he can do is turn great songs into average remixes that sound like elevator muzak. The talentless prick is fucked unless the new Bond song i s going to be a cover version or they need someone to pretend to play the guitar while wearing sunglasses.
He represents everything that is bad with the modern music industry.

Worry not..... Winehouse's agent has come out today to say that she's nowhere near considering recording any tracks at the moment.
It was also stated that it's VERY unlikely she'll record the song for Quantum of Solace:

Amy should definately do the next bond song! She has an amazing voice which would suit a bond film perfectly.

Damn! is she back on for this,     shit.
I quite liked Winehouse's first and second albems but she's spent over a year becoming 'Any Wine-hose', and Mark Ronson is way over rated.
My better idea would be Duffy, i hope thay change thier minds, or something happens to Amy.

From what I've heard, Leona Lewis is apparently taking over.

seems like fairly natural progression to me.. its not like every songs been performed by a 'legend' a-ha? lulu? i'm no fan of Amy, but i'm fairly sure she could belt out a decent bond theme.

can't stand any noise that comes out of shitehouses ugly trap, hope she gets nowhere near a bond theme. her version of valerie is disgustingly bad.

Damn it, can't they just use the Max Rebo band from Return of The Jedi - it'll bring in a whole new audience.

If given the choice between Leona Lewis doing the tune or having one of those terrible synthesizer-heavy, soft-rock/electropop songs that are usually on at the end of late 80's/early 90's Van-Damme and Seagal films, I'm firmly with the latter.

You know the ones.  The kind of bilge that have lyrics about 'fighting for your' something or other and 'always believing in' this and that when 'the temperature's risin' baby!'  All delivered by a man with a badly fitting leather jacket, stupid jeans and hair that looks like an avalanche of carpet fluff.

As for the music, drum machines, drum machines and drum machines.

to be fair to her, given a good song to sing - i doubt she could write one - her vocal range is stunning, and she could do an excellent job of a bond theme - listen to the end of that bleeding love song, she reaches vocal heights of mariah carey and whitney houston which is a pretty rare thing these days. i'm pretty indifferent towards her, and i think the only reason people would be angry about her doing a bond theme is because she won x-factor...

I'd agree with you there maffew, she is a great singer but probably will never get recognition from some because of the "Cowell connection".  I'd have no problem with her doing the song. I couldn't really care less who does it so long as it's good. Leona, Winehouse, The Cheeky Girls*., whoever's fine with me

*maybe not them
