 Sex and the City: The Movie. When I first saw it, I dismissed it as harmless fluff. Having thought about it I realised that it portrays women as shallow, sex obsessed and materialistic. Why would any woman look to these characters as role models?

I think Mamma Mia! is the best women orientated movie I've seen for some time. And even then it's so bad it's really good.

 The most overhyped (by critics and these forums at least) film i've seen recently,....and i know i'm gonna get lynched for this, was No Country for Old Men!

Although i thought it was a very well shot, atmospheric film and had some very good charcters in it (the hitman especially),...it left me feeling very hollow at the end, as if i'd been swindled! I felt like I wanted,...nay, needed closure!

Am i alone in this?,.......Anyone,......hello????

I agree with barkers. The Matrix is up there in my top 10 of films i've ever seen. Totally riveting and was chomping at the bit the the next two...... Soul destroyingly crap. The Wachowski brothers promised so much and delivered so little with the other two. My biggest film disappointment by a long long way.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

15 years in the making and we get aliens. Good beginning, okay middle, terrible end. The over use of CGI was disappointing also, Goddamn you Lucas.

Spiderman 3.

It felt rushed and the CGI seemed cheap compared to the previous two films. I thought things were meant to get better?

Whats wrong with having aliens in Indy?  I find it more believable than anything based around God, at least there is a possibility there is life on other worlds, but an omnipotent being that created our world and  wants our love and devotion, thats just plain silly.

Aliens are so far fetched compared to boxes that release spirits that kill anyone who looks at them when opened and a cup which gives you immortality if you drink from it. The Sci-Fi theme fits the timeline, it was popular in the 50's.

I just think the Aliens should have been more implied rather than shown.

I really hate to say this but The Wrestler, I was so pumped about this movie, incredible performance by Mickey Rourke but the story is just so depressing, Marisa Tomei plays such a flake in it, she just bothered me. Evan Rachel Wood and Mickey Rourke's scenes were excellent. I loved the parts in the deli, but it just left me flat. Like I said I really wanted to love this movie. The wrestling sequences were good, a bit gross, yet comical at the lengths they went to OUCH! I just didn't like the ending that was my beef. It was good but not what I expected, okay I'll stop bitching now.

I remember back in the day that Keaton Batman movie had a massive marketing drive; was it the first of its kind to have that sort of massive, massive push. The t-shirts, badges and all sorts, I remember you couldn't get away from it.

 Dancing with Smurfs... or to give its correct title, AVATAR.

Hyped as amazing 3D (it wasn't IMO) and a original Cameron story... was it shite. That story has been told loads in books and movies. Also the action was shite.

I will give it this though the mo-cap and CGI are amazing

 Here goes:

2001: 3 times I have tried to sit through it. Each time I have failed. I just find it boring, bu I will return again some day.

Ran: Several best of lists have stated this is the greatest film ever. Again dullness was the main theme.

The Dollars trilogy: Moments of genius amidst some shockingly awful dialogue and dubbing. Also kinda boring too in places.

The Incredibles: Not very funny, everyone in the family bar Mr. Incredible is infuriatingly annoying and yes...a bit boring.

Slumdog Millionaire: I find it hard to pin point why this did so little for me. Big Boyle fan, I wasn't bored ...it just did very little for me and I can't really see why it should. That dance sequnce at the end is just stupid as well.

 I would say The Kings Speech probably. Though it was ok, well directed but just meh.... did nothing for me and was far from the dramatic powerhouse it had been built up to be.
