I didn't think cars was as good as the other Pixar offerings and it is because of this that i personally think it is the best choice for a sequel. Here Pixar havce a chance to atone for any wrong doing from the first - while others won't enjoy the idea - i do!!!!

an incredibles sequel would ruin the first, the very nature of the film is built on its stand alone story. a 2nd would only surve to draw out the conclusion of the first movie in to 90mins and personal i dont see anythign really creative happening in that.

I am in no way disappointed with any of these titles. I think they all look incredibly exciting. As ever I get bed-wettingly excited about any Pixar movie and I have a hell of a lot of faith that they will deliver, the summary of 'Newt' does sound limited but then again so does the concept of toys in a bedroom and look what they did there! As for the other Disney films it does genuinely sound to me like they are really turning around and making a conscious effort to improve the quality of their films. Yes, 'Tinkerbell' does sound a bit crummy and "straight-to-dvd-money-grabbing-sequel-ish" but in fairness it looks to be a step up from Aladinn 9: Jafar's Big Day Out or whatever. Plus I have a great feeling about Cars 2, perhaps the first was slightly under the average for Pixar but if anything this makes a second film more worthwhile. It could let us see the first film in a whole new light! Finally I am incredibly excited about Wall-E, to an insane degree. Nuff said.

I too really like this film and can say it does stand up to repeated viewings - I should know, my son watches it all the time. I even took him to see it on the cinema recently, his first big screen outing, and both he and I still sat through it and still enjoyed it. How anyone can say the hypefest Crapatouille is better than this I do not know, and as much as I liked The Incredibles, I couldn't watch it again. Don't even get me started on A Bugs Life or Monsters Inc. Cars does have engaging characters and although the story is a simple one it is beautifully told. I still get slightly choked up when McQueen gives up all he dreamed of because of how he has been affected by the quieter side of life - surely many people today could benefit from this lesson. And Guido & Luigi are 2 of the better comedy characters in any Pixar film. The beginning and final races are also some of the most dramatic work the studio has done. As with each Pixar film, the films work on many levels, its just that the levels in Cars are more subtle than in the others. Bring on Cars 2 I say!! I can't wait to see McQueens world tour - me and my son will be at the front of the queue. By the way, I will be 41 by then!

Having been repeatedly exposed to Cars on DVD courtesy of my son, it's an enjoyable film with some nice touches and great for car fans. I like the thought of Cars 2 going international, there's plenty of scope for ideas on  a global scale as Lightning does Formula One, although I hope the Veyron gets into the film for my lad's sake.

Bolt sounds like the core elements of Buzz's role in Toy Story 1 & 2 as a character who thinks they have powers. I'll leave that one unless the young ones turn on the pester power.

Will Newt be better than Bugs Life? There will be comparisons I guess. I'm not enthralled by that one.

Up sounds fantastic and looks very interesting from that airship photo.

Rapunzel and Princess/Frog look very strong titles. Can't go wrong with traditional Disney Princess look and feel.

4 Tinker bell films is pushing it a bit, even straight to DVD.

I just pray that the Frog and Princess makes the money so more 2D can be made. Rapunzel is the one Im most looking forward to with Glen Keane directing, it will surely have the class that comes with films hes been associated with. All in all WOOOOOO!!!!!

dont get me wrong i love animationa dn am an avid fan and collector with (i like to thin) on e pretty extensive and impressive collection, BUT, so many films slated and all running in tandem, are we seeing Disney and pixar repeat the same mistakes of old. the reason disney fucked up last time was they had too many half baked ideas being approved before they were truely tested. i know studios plan years in advance and this is just them opening their doors to what they have in store but it still seems a little too much too soon. i dont mind if proper time and care is put into eahc film so that they dont require parodies of other movies and build on actual charcter plots. lets hope they get it right and make soem great ANIMATED MOVIES!!

Always exciting to see what Pixar has to offer. My 2 year old is already in love with Wall.e from just the trailer! I will echo a number of people in defence of 'Cars' too and it seems like we all say the same thing. IT STANDS UP TO REPEATED VIEWING! in fact, my DVD is just about worn out! And lets face it, for 'family' films, this is a key factor. I don't know why it gets slated so much- it is utterly beautiful and the characters are lovely. Personally, I find Ratatouille and The Incredibles rather dull in comparison. So, CARS 2 gets a thumbs up in my house.

agreed. Ratatouile and Incredibleas are amazing films; really... beautifully told stories and brilliant characters, yada, yada... but... after one or two times... that's it. they don't have the sense of fun that Cars does. or the little touches that you only notice on like... the 9th time you see it. (seriously... that must be one of the most in-joke/reference filled films there is) like the birds on the telegraph wire. or the car-shaped mountains. even down to the number-plates. Works of Brilliance as they are, the... yes... I'm saying it... more high-brow Pixar offerings lose that (neccesarily, arguably) I feel. which is i think part of why Cars is so much more repeat-view-able and that a sequel is so awesome. like i said before... i just don't get what took 'em so long about it. can't be a shortage of ideas.

Cars was, along with Finding Nemo, one of the worst films Pixar have ever and likely will ever make. Cars 2 is a gigantic money-drive. Having said that, I'm looking forwards to newt and Rapunzel so I'm a bit softy at heart too...

I think you can definately make a sequel to Incredibles and it will stand up on its own! The ending was very open-ended and the storyline of the first doesn't conclude anything. If anything the world of the Incredibles was mostly devoid of superheroes (due to Syndrome) and the need was evident for more. Perhaps Mr. Incredible and family, along with Frozone can train the next generation of superheroes (with comedic effect). I remember thinking "What kind of story can you have about fish" when Finding Nemo was announced, and found it to be a glorious movie. Pixar has the edge with creativity, humanity and brilliant storywriting...give them a chance. The superhero genre is so wide open as to what can happen, an Incredibles sequel would be welcomed!

I can predict there will be a vast number of twenty somethings, all brought up on the glory days of disney films, who will flock to the cinema in anticipation of Repunzel and The King Of The Elves. Beautiful, olden storytelling is their forté.

Personally, I give a bold thumbs-up to a sequel to Cars. The original was genuinely funny, quirky, and sweet. And the Incredibles lacked any truly memorable lines or characters. I'm sorry, but Edna Mode just doesn't match up to, say, Dory or Francis.
