Just remembered my favourite bit of the episode, Morgan's little fish in his office.

I actually missed the gag until my dad pointed it out. But when he did, I laughed quite a bit.

Oh wow! I'm finally caught up on where the series is up to and that was a fantastic episode! Really awesome cliffhanger too!
Very glad that Morgan knows now. Hopefully they can write some good storylines for him.

Sadly, this series is about half way through. SPOILERS--->Just read that Linda Hamilton is lined up to star as Chuck's mother in Series 4. SPOILERS ENDSeriously the casting on the show is just geek heaven. Shame that Virgin 1 wait so long to show the series after the US.

Edited to add spoiler tags.

Is that not a bit spoilerific for UK viewers?

Well it's been all over news sites in the UK so I'd say it's pretty well known at this point. Anyway, I'm pretty sure someone's already posted about Dolph Lundgren being in the next series and no one seemed to mind.

Spoilery link:

Aren't spoilers things of a more plot specific nature? That's my understanding of them anyway.

Edited to shorten url to remove spoilery text part of it!

I don't think Robert Duncan McNeil is a showrunner, he's just the resident director and as such he also gets an executive producer credit. The same happened for Jack Bender on Lost.

the continuity guy was right-best 'chuck' fight scene to date.

and then chuck went dark side, scaring sarah/sam.

Well that had to be the straightest episode of Chuck so far...yes, it had some lighter moments ("Ivan Drago?...seriously?", Chuck hanging from the hotel sans-towel, Jeffster vs Casey) but overall the tone of the ep definitely veered towards the serious.

Not that this was a bad thing.  The second half of the ep, as Chuck discovered that his exam wasn't over and there was a final test to complete, was very well done.  I especially liked the riff on Besson's 'La Femme Nikita', with Sarah in the 'Bob' role taking Chuck out to a fancy restaurant for dinner and then announcing that he had to kill someone.  The fight in the gents was also well done.  After last week's fight between Chuck and the Ring agents the close up combat sequences are definitely getting meaner.

I do however, hope that normal, lighter Chuck is restored next week.  I don't mind the odd episode like this one that plays around with expectations but a key part of the show's appeal is the mixture of slacker comedy and espionage stuff.  I hope they don't forget that...

Oh and does anyone else think that Sarah's red test will have some future significance in the show?  Why else would they shoot such an elaborate flashback if it wasn't going to be a big deal later on...?

also the fight in the gents reminded me of 'casino royale' and casey killiing the traitor of 'liberty valance'.
even had a 'mission : impossible' runnning gag.

Yes, this was the most 'serious' ep of the season like you said.  It gets better soon, don't worry.  The angst is almost over.    Next 2 eps are great.  Ep 13 is Epic.

What would have been season 3's penultimate episode was a right corker.

Loved the trio of Casey, Morgan and Awesome. And also loved that the Buy More plot was cleverly integrated into the spy plot this week.

Favourite part though was when casey came to tell Sarah that Chuck didn't kill the mole in the previous ep. I love all the 'Casey is actually nice' moments.

And Badger/Lampkin/Crowley showed up as the Ring Director. That dude is in everything.

And so to the finale of Chuck season 3.0.

Pretty much loved everything about it. The is he evil/isn't he evil? with Shaw, the affirmation of Sarah's love for Chuck, Morgan becoming part of Team Bartowski, Chuck killing (!) Shaw and Casey getting reinstated.

Bring on Season 3.1

Sort of.

Season 3 was only meant to be 13 episodes long. Then they got another 6 episodes. So this would have been the finale had the network not picked up another 6 eps.

So, these next 6 are a kinda sorta new season.

Great New UK Chuck Fans....!

The TV Spy Blog is reporting that S4 of Chuck will start airing on Living in the UK as soon as S3 finishes on Channel One (formerly Virgin1).

I guess this is a positive side effect of Sky's reorganisation of Living/Channel1/Bravo/Etc.  With Chuck, Nikita and I assume Hawaii Five-O (which was originally due to be on Bravo) Living is looking a more attractive channel by the minute...

The news is bad for people that only have freeview and can't then watch season 4 but it airing on Living is great, the channel is really going strong in terms of its shows and virgin 1 always used to show Chuck a year after US speed at least we wont be that far behind now.

Just wondering, Are they showing the two final episodes together on the same night, or do you have to wait till next week for the very last ep?

If it's the two last ep together that'd be great; it's the best way to watch them.  It's like one big episode.  It feels like Chuck the Movie, imo.  It's that awesome.
