What the hell is that dire piece of dreck Goodfellas doing at number two?

Not liking a expertly made film does not make it a dire piece of dreck, shame when someone cant make that distinction.

I disagreed with the most of the top 100 (Once Upon A Time In America dozens of places behind Titanic?), but if you ignore the ranking, it's a very interesting list, and one I will use for future reference Thanks.

Forty goddamn seven?

I disappear for a year or two & 12 Angry Men can't get into the top 20? WTF?

Saying that I do take same consolation that it's above evil dead 2 ....

Well, I'm pleased to see The Shawshank Redemption hit number one! One of my favourite all time films. Good list otherwise, although no Miyazaki? What gives?

Yeah jedi-fu, good call. The more I read this list, the more I think it's reductive. There's very little there that's brilliant, but a lot of middle of the road stuff that appeals to a wide audience base. The best thing about films is the variance in opinion, there's no such thing as the world's favourite film. Thus, defining the best film etc is just pointless.

That's why this is a poll based on the Forums opinion, which funnily enough seems to account for a wide audience base. Ho-hum!

Wooop Wooopp! I've seen quite a few of these! Quite a few is a mild understatement
Good to see a nice mix of amazing classics (the likes of Jaws, Psycho, Alien etc.) with some newer films!

Love the old ones.

Totally agree with number 1. Shawshank Redemption is definately one of the greatest films.

Not into top lists of films. I love film too much to place any film above another when ther are soooo many doss movies. Plus they are inevitably dominated by English Language films ignoring those not released here but which may be great and only including a small number of "populist" middle-class foreign jobbos. Thats not to say I denegrade your bloody good efforts, just that lists are not for me.

Why is Titanic in it?
Did James Cameron win a competition or something to get it included in the list?

Isn't the point to submit your favourites to ensure your views are represented on these lists? If you don't submit films like that there doesn't seem much point then criticising a list for not having them?

It's quite funny to look back at that post I've now seen 66/100 and would dismiss the list as largely imdb-esque popularity contest

Of course, you can contribute to this years poll.  Hey, your vote could make it better.  Is it too early to be pimping for votes?
