Yeah it looks cool, but it'll just be a longer version of the marine campaign in last years Aliens Versus Predator surely?

Whereas that was a straight up (and slightly outdated, clunky) FPS, this is apparently more like a squad-based, tactical shooter. If they fix the duff controls, average graphics, cheap final boss and vaguely pants story, then this should be a winner.

The 4 player co-op should be immense too.

This is ALL about the 4 player co-op for me! If they get that right they are on to a winner. The co-op/multiplayer on AVP was such a huge disappointment given the background of the devs.

I really, really want it to be good and it does look the part. But I can't help think it will be a one trick pony, that trick being 'we're basically in the movie setting'. I've a horrid feeling it will be a really standard shooter that shoehorns in set pieces that evoke the movie without ever really developing it's own story or style. If it gets rave reviews, I may pick it up on the cheap, but it isn't on my must have list just yet, despite looking decent.

 It's made by Gearbox (Borderlands) rather than Rebellion who made AVP, so I doubt they'd be much similarity in style, other than it being Aliens. If it's anything like what Borderlands' co-op was, then we're in for a treat I reckon.

 Almost finished Aliens Infestation. A great action platformer, that's very respectful to the source material. The sound is great for a DS game. The pulse rifle is spot on. Rather short though. Rent it or wait for a drop in price. Really whets the appetite for Colonial Marines, though!

I wonder if it follows the same story?

Don't tell me you've almost cleared it? It only came out today! How long you reckon it is? I've seen it for around £20 so as long as you get 5 to 6 hours I won't complain.

 I would say there is a good 5-6 hours game play there and I've not unlocked all the extras yet. It's extremely old school.

Just bought it. Can't wait to play it. Was only £20 so not bad all in all. I know it's retro, you can see that from the gameplay vids. Game is gonna kick ass!

I'm really enjoying Infestation. Up to the 3rd mission now and so far it's been a total fan service from the get go. Hopefully it won't gets stupid difficult in the later stages. So far the bosses have been quite odd. The first one was a fucker, I lost a guy on him but the second boss was easy. So far none of my marines have been captured. I lost my main guy but he wen't down like a pro fighting against a queen. I love how when they die, they stay dead. Great little touch that helps raise the stakes some!

He was a bastard, but I think I took him down on the first try. I went through at least 2 of my marines though. I used the smart gun if I remember correctly and I think it was upgraded by +2. And grenades helped.

How do I upgrae?? Lol, it's not exactly plaer friendly is it? Had to read the manual to find out I could take cover behind objects when being shot at!

Please tell me this fucker is the not the begining of stupidly difficult bosses!! So far the game is ace!

 Explore the vent shafts. They usually have the pick-ups in them. The upgrades are a box with an upwards pointing arrow on them. You can see if you've got one as there will be a + and a number next to the weapon in the inventory. You can only upgrade each weapon thrice. The cover system is only useful against humanoid opponents though. And even then it's difficult to retaliate.
