I nearly chocked on my tea just then! It's one of the most perfectly constructed blockbusters you could ever hope to find! This fundamentally means it lends itself particularly well to repeat viewings.

And there's something about this shot that makes me rank it as one of Spielberg's best. Chills every time

Seconding DazDaMan on this one

The T-Rex Attack in JURASSIC PARK is more thrillingly entertaining than ANY idea rattling around the coke-addled mind of that little film-geek who is mates with Eli Roth and likes crappy old kung-fu films.

It is. I like the fact that Timmy is older than Lex here just like in the novel - this shows early on in the process this artwork was created.

Aie don't believe it!!!!!

Could watch (and have watched) the T-Rex and Velicociraptor scenes over and over again. Steady build up leads to massive payoff.

Different league altogether! Itís like being given the option of a bazooka or a water pistol shortly before being dropped into a warzone. He hasnít got a scene like that in him, there a few who do. At his best Spielberg is Ďpureí cinematic magic! And there really are few directors on that level. The director alluded to above certainly isnít one of them for me.

Is there a blu ray version? If so, anyone got it? I'd imagine it looks amazing but you never know with these things.

Makes me happy to see so many fellow fans of JP, it was the first film that I really got fixated about and remember seeing it twice in the cinemas (also led to me building up The Lost World far too much and being a bit disappointed) and read the much more adult books.

I was about 7/8 when it came out and therefore had loads of the toys (although never got Malcolm until a year or so back in Oxfam for about 48p!) - it was the first film where I got the Making Of books too and really started to get interested in film-making and behind the scenes of it all.

As mentioned before, it really holds up, the SFX still beat some of the stuff churned out today and it's infinitely quotable too, a real personal favourite and a Spielberg masterpiece.

I'm simply saying that life, uh... finds a way.

Edit: okay, I'm confused now but I swear the PCC was showing JP tomorrow afternoon around three, but now I can't find it.

I caught a snippet of JURASSIC PARK III on TV yesterday - can't believe it was almost TEN YEARS ago when I first saw it at the cinema. I like both sequels and the third film was a worthy addition to the series. LOVE SPINOSAURUS!

Its not like that at all, theres like 7 minutes of actual dinosaur footage in the entire movie, its what you DONT see is what makes it great, a 12 year old krudler shat his pants at the opening scene, it was absolutely terrifying watching it in a cinema. And the T-Rex attack is my generations Star Destroyer moment. Its the collective gasp of an audience that I've never experienced since in a summer blockbuster. many have come close but as far as I'm concerned, Jurassic Park was THE event movie of my lifetime.
