I'm so annoyed with this week's episode. Another boardroom decision made for tv entertainment.

Absolutely!

I think even Siralun's side-kick, Margaret, is a bit cheesed off with how this is going now.  Or was that just the edit we were given that she seemed to be much more vocal in her opinions than usual?  In my opinion the show might work as car-crash TV, but runs below the level it should when being Machiavellian in the tasks and dissembling in the boardroom are the attributes that put you through.

I don't care if you are the bloke who runs the cornershop or CEO of a multinational, one of the key ingredients you have to look for in a new staff member is honesty and integrity.  Simon had this in spades, and neither Clare nor Alex would know what virtues they are if they came up and slapped them around the face.

The tasks should engender teamwork and getting the most from the team.  Clare seems to want to undermine every manager she has; and has shown little to back up why she believes she is right and all others wrong as the win in the first fish-selling contest was hardly covered in glory.  Alex sulked and looked like he was never going to take his coat off and get down to work.  He had a real chance to take a position of responsibility in the team and deliver, but cowered away and then sought to push the blame around and lie his way out of trouble - and it was a lie to say they didn't know there were problems delivering to customers.

Having said all of the above, I do agree with the poster who noted that it was a lot to be running the photography and the team.  Simon should have been able to go to the backroom and sort them out.

I'd also have sacked the bloody useless woman who's never operated a phone, camera or computer.  Its not that you are not technically able, its that you are crap.  She was trained on the task and seemed unable to learn.  Yeah, the PM should have moved her from the post, but she's so lightweight in each task I think she'll blow away in the next breeze.  Odds are though that when she's the manager she'll be found within 10 minutes of the task starting in a darkened room with a bottle of vodka as the sharks will rip her to shreds... Car crash TV huh.

Absolutely. When she is made PM, which is surely only a matter to time, the others are going to do absolutely nothing to help her. From what I've seen of her, I'd say she has no chance of winning but everyone else is going to make it so difficult for her she's going to collapse spectaculaly. She's only in there as cannon fodder for the ratings.

This is the first series I've ever watched and I just hope that the people who deserve it get what's coming to them. SAS has said he doesn't know what Claire is there for and she's got one chance to redeem herself, as PM. If she fucks up next week, I would fully expect her to go, if she does fuck up and doesn't go, then I doubt I'll watch again. I don't like TV where you can tell it's all for the ratings, it feels like the producers are trying to manipulate you into watching week after week ('such and such a person is still there, I've got to watch next week (and the week after) to see them get fired'). I can accept a little of it but not week after week.

Both teams spectacularly inept this week. Simon was a nice bloke but couldnt get his team working for him right. and the other team that Lucinda (Beret wearing waste of space) was hopeless but why didnt the PM move the jobs around rather than risk letting her lose the task for them? Muppets!

It was another case of who screwed up the least this week. The only task that has gone well so far was the boys laundry task. I would have thought that SAS should be getting worried by now.

I have to say i quite liked simon in the previous weeks because he seemed like a hands on sort of bloke...but i dunno about this years contestants in general...either they show no promise from the start or the ones that do completely turn when they become project manager. I was APALLED by Simon as project manager to be quite honest (don't get me started on the 170 IQ...he probably took it on facebook!) I don't like claire very much at all i find her a little smug, but I didn't think she did anything exceptionally wrong as to get quite the reaction SAS had. I mean yes, she does talk down to people, etc but Simon just wasn't listening to anyone! He was so in your face and difficult it was cringeworthy.

As for the other team, i did feel like helene might've intentionally tried to stitch up lucinda by putting her on the comp when she said from the start she couldn't do it and had no experience...but in general...if she has little experience with computers...what is she doing there? Isn't that a basic skill requirement nowadays for anyone wanting to work in the city? And I was really shocked not one of the others took over from her...maybe im being silly but how hard is it to read files a camera to a computer...surely one of them owns a digital camera?!

And even though I thought Helene had some promise from the start (no bragging, got on well with people...well until now...a grafter) but that opinion was completely shot to hell yesterday when all i recall seeing her do was stand there moaning with a mug of coffee in her hand!

and will these people never learn it's never the ones that brag and boast that win it!!

I'm sorry...it turned into a rant...I could go on forever...i don't like any of the candidates on this show so far and find myself rooting for michael by default just coz he's greek! (i miss simon from series 3 :o( )

I found that whole section infruriating....the "I'm not a technical person" argument just doesn't wash in this day and age....granted Lucinda should never have been appointed that task, but how can ANYONE claim not to be able to use simple IT??

Had to smirk when Nick chipped in during the boardroom meeting to mention that the organiser's child could have operated the equipment!

She seriously should have gone. I hate thinking it as I like the programme, but I often do wonder if Surallan's decision is influenced by producers who want to see more tension in future episodes.

And as other people have pointed out, I don't think there's anyone left who I'd actually like to see win. The only thing my hopes are riding on now is that the girl with the short dark hair will turn out to be a goodie as I haven't seen her do anything yet.

Am I the only one who's not suprised by this?

If I had a pound for everytime I've met some as technologically inept as Lucinda was I'd be a very rich man.

It's not as if she's 60+ though, surely she must have had some other kind of interaction with a computer before. I wouldn't be suprised if she had to be told how to use the mouse...

I genuinely believe that some people are just missing that part of the brain in all honesty, occasionally you'll get someone who's either too bone fucking idle or scared to operate a computer and therefore won't want to learn, but more often than not some people just find it impossible for reasons that completely elude me. I've seen dozens of otherwise bright people regress to caveman levels of intelligence when confronted with a PC, I can't even begin to explain it.

Lucinda is a textbook example of how the Apprentice is chosen; have people who are ok at business but are complete twats, and one who is so inept that they will keep people laughing for years to come (cf: Paul from Last Year, Lucinda).

maybe we just find it difficult to comprehend because we're disucssing this through the "internet machine" and therefore MUST know how to use a mouse and keyboard...perhaps there are people out there completely inept and backward...I would not be surprised if Lucinda's CV was written through the trusty medium of pencil and paper...nay, quill and parchment...or even wax tablet and pointy thingy...with a couple of colourful collages for aesthetic effect.

I'm being mean now. But I still don't get it.

I'm serious.  He did a good job as PM on the laundry task, so he'll stay out of the spotlight for the next few weeks.

lol! In all fairness to the guy, i thought he was gonna grate on me, but he does seem like a nice bloke. He will stay out of the spotlight now, you're right. But he wasn't particularly good as project manager on the laundry task mind. He was just lucky coz the girls were terrible!

Agreed, but for Lucinda to have gotten onto the Apprentice she must at least have some experience & capability in industry and I simply cannot see how it can be possible for her not to have picked up at least the most basic of IT skills?!?!?  There can't be an office left on the planet that doesn't use computers?!?!

Hopeully this week's won't have the same cringe-quality as last years design-and-sell-sweets challenge.  I'm almost positive that that created a new generation of diabetics.

It was another ratings based dismissal this week. Totally fake show but very enjoyable.

Classic when Jen mentioned about Sralan saying she was cold and there was a deafening silence around the table

I was quietly impressed with Lucinda this week however she did shoot herself in the foot with Helene as she had had Helene's support up until she grassed on Jen being a snake.  Not a good move.   Disappointed that Claire's team won as I don't like Claire even though she has made some changes.  They were much more disorganised.

Lindi was a bit of an egotistical nightmare but soon showed her colours in the boardroom, turning on Jen.  Glad she went.

Next week - Kevin's bum.  Nooooooooooooo

I cannot quite comprehend what happened in today's episode! how in the WORLD did Claire win it?....they based their business decision on the opinions of two drunks coz she somehow took 4 hours to find 50 sodding oranges and then they had essentially no appointments for the following day?!?!

Lucinda was good today I feel. She wasn't an in your face manager and she did take people's opinions on board (ok jen never SAID she didnt want the teams changed, but it was obvious from her and lindi's face when lucinda suggested it and she said it in the car before they got to the house!).

However, even though i do feel she's a snake I think on balance, lindi was the right one to go (Lucinda saved herself in her management). I dont think lindi could have offered more and I think jens shrewd and has clearly learnt from her mistakes today!

but totally agree, lucinde shot herself in the foot grassing on helene...NO woman would own up to such a thing whether it was true or not!

eurgh...this means we probably have to endure most of team alpha for a few more weeks...i only mildly like michael from that team...the others grate on me. Alex is whiny and immature and I think Sarah's just a lot of hot air.

I'm becoming more and more a fan of raef and that other bloke from rennaissance.

It was just an utter fluke, I think - though their ice creams sounded better than their rivals' (avocado and chilli? Ugh!). I have to assume they charged a bit more or made more sales than the editing made out. When they were beaten to the punch on the cinema deal, I thought they were finished.

Raef reminds me of a vampire...  I'm sure the truth will come out sooner or later.

Today's episode was a shock, I was positive that Alpha was going to win, they seem to have all the actual contenders for apprentice.  Renaissance is full of people that are going to get fired within the next couple of weeks.  Happy for Lucinda, but I hate Helene, she didn't do jack sh"t today all she seems to be able to do is put Lucinda down.  Get her out.

It amazes me, that they are given all 'the tools' so to speak, but yet arn't that good. I too can't understand how Clares team ended up winning??? Although the editors i guess, wanted us to believe that Lucindas team were winning all throughout the programme.

Love it, that they are stick together like sit on a blanket when they think they had it in the bag, then begin to rip each other into shreds later on in the boardroom.

Clare has to go, she is just annoying and has a constant perturbed look on her face. The Matt Lucas lookalikey has to go too.
Raef to win.
