According to 'Play' they have all the pads and sticks in stock....

Link

Thanks for that dude..

These are totally sold out everywhere else, and wasn't available on Play earlier today. I wasn't going to spend so much on a controller, but seeing as it's so limited (and looks awesome), I'm going to take the plunge.

No probs, I was surprised when I saw them earlier (so hopefully play speaks the truth!), I can't really afford the arcade stick at the moment, and my SF skills really wouldn't do it justice anyways

I'm just going with the 'Ryu' edition of the fightpad....

Really looking forward to this game.

Amazon have said nothing about my order, but then they don't usually dispatch until the day of release so I doubt I'll get this early.

I would switch it to Shopto, but the first order has to be shipped to my home address.

If you're that desperate for it, i'd be inclined to give shopto a call, maybe they'll ship it to your work address...

Not all that hopeful on my 'play' order for the fightpad though, it hasn't moved yet, and is now not available to buy on their site, doesn't even say 'out of stock'.

I am hoping the get back in stock soon. I mean the game is not even out yet! They must at least have some in the shops when the game is in the shops. Cheers for that though...hopefully I won't have to use it as the pads are £34.99 on there...

Chnaging my pre-order over to ShopTo paid off...

It's arrived!

I'll be sure to give you my thoughts once I've had a few (more than fifty) matches and dabbled in all the features and whatnot.

Nice one! Giz has his copy to it would seem. You lucky bastards!...I look forward to hearing your opinions... I have had my pre-order with HMV for weeks! It is on it's way though. I ordered with them as I get student discount so it worked out at £24.99 for the game plus an exclusive HMV sleeve.
Ahhh well hopefully I will have it by launch day. It would take the piss if it comes out in the shops and I still do not have it!

I'm tempted to give this a go as I have fond memories of playing Street Fighter 2 on the SNES with mates. Trouble is I'm shit at fighting games. Doesn't help that I can never be arsed to learn many moves and usually just button mash. If I get this and go online with it I'm going to get slaughtered every time. Mind you - I do have a mate who is more shit at games than me. Could get it and play with him.

Yep, I got my copy, been playing for a good couple of hours now on and off, and it's really freaking good!!

The graphics are just superb, love the styling of it all, the intro and end scenes jar a little being a total different style, but then the end scenes were always pretty naff. The backgrounds are good (especially fighting under the bridge), but would of liked to see some more of the original stages re-done. The pace of the game seems perfect, and the 360 pad is actually holding up pretty well, will still prefer it when I get hold of one of these new pads I think though.

The new characters are an interesting bunch, with a couple of them being a real pain in the arse, but they're nothing compared to cheap 'ole seth!!! He is your bitch for a round, then turns nasty.... really bloody nasty, the teleporting twat he is!!

I'm not all that great at fighters either Jules, but I still totally recommend you get this... it's even got an 'EASY', 'VERY EASY' and 'EASIEST' mode...... thank god!!

I'd appreciate it if you guys could let me know how it plays with the regular controller. We all know the d-pad is the weak point of the otherwise excellent 360 controller but I don't think I could justify spending a load of extra cash on one of these fancy looking arcade sticks.

Also - anyone know if any of the supermarkets are doing cheap deals on this?

I have heard nothing about the supermarkets. I don't think there will be. It would be a different story if the RRP was £39.99 but it is not. Considering you can pick the game up for about £27.99 already I can't imagine anywhere really reducing it even futher at the moment.

Apparently I've clocked up 8 hours on this game .... it was on pause for a good hour or two of that.... honest

Had my first online win against someone using Akuma, and i've also had about 5 online defeats!!

Only unlocked one character so far, and slowly working my way through the challenge mode.

One slightly strange choice in the game is one of the music tracks... sounds a bit like the backstreet boys have made a come back

Isn't it Exhil, the guys that did the intro music? Is there an option to change the characters language so that some speak in Japanese (Sakura) and others English?

I can't confirm this but I heard Asda don't itemise games. My friend bough a game from Asda and too back a free game he got elsewhere and received a full refund as the receipt just said "360 game". This was over a year ago mind.

You wouldn't believe the amount of voice choices you have, you can basically select if you want the japanese original or the english voice for any character, and you can also decide whether you want cut scenes and the actual batlle voices different

Yeah it is the song from the intro I think, I don't mind it for the intro, just sits a little weird in amongst the rest of the tracks when it pops up on a fight.

Why not buy a controller for your 360 that is aimed towards fighting games?

Sadly, they don't exactly grow on trees!

It came today! WHOOP!...too bad I have been out all day and only got to play it for 15 mins just now. I won't get to properly play it till Saturday either...

Anyway first brief impressions are it honestly it does not look as amazing as I thought it would. Probaly due to my lack of HD. Whilst I am happy about the make over and it has vastly improved through development I still think it needs a bit of work. Though it does look great!

It feels tottaly different. That really is a big thing. Don't get me wrong what you know and love is there. If you have played Street Fighter before you will feel at home, except when you look around you realise the missus has tottaly re-vamped the place and it will take some getting used to.

The Xbox 360 controller held up better than expected. Though I really have not pushed it yet as I have not even touched the surface of the combos or new game mechanics. I pretty much stuck to what I knew...Hadoken, Dragon Punch and Hurricane Kick. I did actually find the Dragon Punch easier to pull off but the pad will still take some getting used to. Not sure how it will hold out in the heat of battle against a human opponant.

First play I played and defeated Chun-Li, E Honda, El Fuetre and Balrog only loosing my first round to Balrog...of all people...I was Ryu. This is when I started to really feel the difference. I did not bother looking at any instructions or anything else just quickly picked up and played on medium. Whatever these new moves etc are they work as Blanka was the next fight and whilst I won a round he easily defeated me two rounds in a row.

For now I just have to look forward to the weekend to really dig into this game and really dive into the new mechanics and feel for everything. It's going to be one hell of a weekend!

going into town in 15 mins, I just blew 29.99 pre ordering Killzone but I'm tempted to get this too.

Still undecided if I should pick up the PS3 version instead due to the ps3 controller being better for this kinda thing.

Yippe.
I have a day off and have been playing this for about 2 hours straight.
SETH is the laziest boss created (he basially has Dhalsim's moves with a bit of Ryu stuck in)..but the fights are fun.
Ken is pretty easy to handle and I had my first online fight and handed the guy his ass on a plate
I usually suck at fighting games but this is quite simple for the most part and you can grasp the moves fast.

I've just come back from town where I've managed to grab a few minutes on this in Game and handed out some old school kickings to a couple of spotty oiks*.  They'd got it set up in HD and I've got to say it looks pretty tasty.  It also feels really smooth.

The only thing preventing me from parting with my hard earned for it was the prospect of her indoors laying down her own Ultra on me**.

*In retrospect, I should've let them win, given the way they hung around outside the shop afterwards.  I could've been happy slapped.  Do they still do that?

Game is £35 so if you got unwanted game like Prince Of Persia then it not a bad deal. However Asda is doing a deal for today and the weekend around £27.
