I think my current team is something like

Trish, Ryu, Sentinel OR Storm.

I don't get much time to play though. We will have to have some FRIENDLY matches soon though. Getting my connection changed to BT Infinity soon ... fingers crossed it's good ...

Soooo I've played MvsC for about 4 hours ...

I've played Pokemon Black for 27 ...

Says it all about my troubles right now. No time to fit proper gaming in. I can't sit down to master MvsC3, but I can repeatedly grind on Pokemon to and from work, at lunch or if I'm casually watching something. Sigh.

Maybe this where Street Fighter DS comes in? Bleh ...

SSFIV Arcade Edition has been rated by the BBFC, released on June 24th.
BUT, the 24th is a Friday, doesn't DLC usually get released on a Tuesday/Wednesday?...

ANOTHER SFIV retail disc?!!!!

Oh dear ....

I'm not forking out money for ANOTHER SF4 for the sake of  FOUR new characters ... two of which I've used before.

If they are going to go down this road either make annoying DLC & then make an ULTIMATE collectors edition with ALL the DLC ever on it or something.

Meh ...

On another note I tried SF4 3DS ... hated the stick for the brief time I used it. The slated 3D view was a nice little gimmick but one you'd use once or twice. But it looked pretty and it's good ol SF.

My Xbox Street Fighter Anniversary Collection arrived today! Woop!!!!!

On MvC3 - Shame about that leaked list there, some interesting choices, pity though s'not true. I'd like to get the current Jill Valentine DLC but for 4.99euros s'bit too much too justify the cost, if they were bundled togethe, however at a decent cost then id jump at them.

Anyone played the Shadow Battles yet? Good way to bag some trophies/achievements.

I have Jill and S Gorath but haven't spent much time with them yet. Had a brief play with Jill, reminded me a little bit of SSFIV Cammy, which for me is a bonus.
I've got Shadow mode but haven't paid for the latest Shadow pack, didn't realise they were gonna cost anything, bit narked at that.

Well the last Shadow Battle cost me around 99cents on the PSN (could be cheaper in the UK id say) - first one was grand, nice way to get a few easy trophies - havent tried this send one yet

I suck so bad at this game. I've never been good at SF, so I thought I'd rent it. I keep getting destroyed online. WHY CAN'T I EVEN BE HALF DECENT AT THIS GAME????!!!

Practice makes perfect, my man! Chuck it on the lower difficulties and try out the moves; see which character suits your play style (Ryu and Ken being ya bog standard easy to play fighters) I'm pretty shite myself online, but ive won a few battles here and there on SF4 and currently 100% win rate on MvC3 (albeit ive only played one match, but im still unbeaten!!!!  )

Who are you using?
Read their forum on here -  http://shoryuken.com/f315/
Ignore talk of frame traps, option selects, resets etc as it'll just confuse you. Just read through combo threads and general strategy/matchups threads.

Spend hours in training mode getting your combos down.

If you're gonna practice in Arcade Mode put it on the hardest setting, not the lowest. Hardest setting is comparable to the least skilled players you'll fight against online.

Ignore who has flashy ultras, who looks the coolest, none of it matters. Use who you are most comfortable with. Spend a lot of time with EACH character. If one really gels with your playstyle stick with them til the bitter end. I learned the hard way (ie- getting spanked in offline UK tournaments) that dabbling with characters without putting the work in is really not worth it and a waste of time.

Most importantly, have fun and be patient. The wins aren't going to come straight away, if you want to win you've really got to put the time and effort in. It WILL be worth it and WILL be so, so satisfying when it all comes together for you.

Are you on XBL? If so add Swoz138 and I'll gladly talk you through whoever you want to learn and offer what I can. Playing tonnes of matches is the real way to progress.

I still like to play SF4 online, but I find my opponents are either complete noobs who have only just bought the game or super hardcore players who have been playing Street Fighter thier entire life. As a middle ground kind of player I struggle a little to find close matches.

We knew it would come in some form ...

Considering they are talking about offering Yun, Yan, Oni Akum, Shin Ryu and a few other bits like balancing etc I wonder how much it will cost.

Considering one character on MvsC3 sets you back 400 points. We could be looking at least 1600 points if you look at it that way.

The Punisher and Dan, of course.

Um, anyhoo. It made my eyes actually blow up. Right out of my face, they did. Luckily, I'm all better now, and can agree it's a lovely little title, at least allowing you a sense of control while insanity is going on all around. My character of choice is Deadpool, and I'll admit to chuckling a bit of spit out on his level 3 Hyper Combo. The "Smash 'em' about the head with the life bar" one. I seem to have settled into Ryu, Iron Man and aforementioned 'Pool for scrapping, especially when they do their group thing. But I'm getting a bit gripey with folk using the simple setup and spamming Y with Taskmaster. Fooey.

Figured this was the best thread for this mini rant.

I picked up Battle Fantasia for 6 yesterday. Was really enjoying my first play through till I reached the final boss (DeathBastard or something).

He is ridiculous, the first incarnation of him is fine then he comes back with 10x your health and can pretty much twat you in 1 combo. I tried fighting him with the difficulty set to "very easy" and still got mullered.

Completely spoils what is otherwise a nice little fighter.

Played that awhile back as someone bought it to work.

Not bad ... though didn't blow me away. A shame it didn't come out way before Street Fighter 4 revived the 2D beat em up.

Ugh I should have entered last year!

No hope in hell of doing well now. Not played for ... months and MvsC3 ... I've played for about 3 hours total.

Sad times.

I may have to give that supervsbattle a look at. I've been getting back into T6 and SSFIV recently.

I think the break away from it did me well as it got to a point where I'd just be stubborn with tactics/char. choices and end up getting destroyed both online and local. PSN outage helped matters.

T6 - Law, Bryan, Hwoarang, Jin, Baek.
SSFIV - Sakura, Sagat, Blanka, Ryu.

I bet I'll be shot right back down again if I do decide to go!

I haven't done very well at all at the tournaments I've attended. But you learn so, so much from the experience.
Being sat next to a certain Mr Umehara for 8 hours helps too...

I'd say go for it. The experience repays the entrance fee alone. Me and a mate'll probably take our own casual setup anyway so feel free to join us.

Wha? Are they out?

What's on the disc exactly? If it's all the characters + tweaks ... + ALL the character costumes (come on Capcom!) then I may pick it up. If not I got points.

STREET FIGHER THIRD STRIKE ONLINE

I can't play it and I've barely played my copy ... but yeah I'll get it. Bring on an Alpha 3 HD version please!

S'ok, downloaded this last night on PSN for 14.99euros.  Few tweaks here and here and some replay channels plus the additional characters, Evil Ryu: EVERYONE uses online sadly.

PLUS the option the flit between the Super and Arcade versions and new icons and titles, not sure im totally wowed by the update though.
